It’s been exactly one year since finding six kittens that we found loving homes for. So of course we’d jump to save them if one of them needed. This is Milo. He was the fat and fluffy kitten at the time. Unfortunately Milo was caught red handed eating pieces of a nerf gun dart. His mom was smart enough to find the pieces he ate and took apart another one to see if any pieces were missing. Sure enough there was so she rushed him into the office to get x rays since he started vomiting and wasn’t eating. Prompt diagnosis and surgery are critical because an obstruction can be fatal. The longer the foreign body is lodged, the worse the damage to the gastrointestinal tract. After emergency surgery to get the dart out, Milo is fully recovered and doing well. Important to note that kittens and puppies can get into anything and everything so to prevent foreign body surgery, keep small objects, strings, and rubber bands out of reach of your pet.
