I am honored and excited to be presenting at the ADRC of Douglas County, WI Memory Cafe on April 24th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Superior Public Library!

I was part of my grandmother’s memory care team for over a decade and it is wonderful to be able to give back to the memory care community. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with live animals to their comfort level.

When you find a black rat snake in the wild and have no idea what to do with your face because you’re so excited 😱🥰❤️🐍 BIG shoutout to our family in Missouri who not only hosted us for the eclipse, but took us on a hike where we found this fantastic, super chill fella!

Thank you to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for proactively taking steps to reduce turtle road mortality!! We need these all over! 🐢

Of the nine native turtle species that call Minnesota home, two of them—the Blanding’s Turtle and the wood turtle—are on the state’s threatened species list. Road mortality is a major threat to our shelled friends, and a new project near the Cannon River Turtle Preserve Scientific and Natural Area aims to help! A fence, running between two MnDOT bridges, will redirect turtles (like this western painted turtle) and other animal traffic toward safer passage under the bridge.

Previous trials with this fencing, developed in coordination with the Minnesota Zoo, showed a 91% reduction in turtle fatalities in the testing areas! Learn more: https://bit.ly/3TwZCd2

Come share a story with Luca the Ball Python at the library TOMORROW night at 6 p.m.! 🪱

Ball pythons are native to Africa and have become one of the most popular pet snakes in the world! Because of his gentle nature, Luca will sit and listen to readers for hours. You might think, how can he hear me? He doesn’t have ears! But they actually do! Snakes might not have ears that look like other animals, but they do have the ability to hear. Luca can’t wait to meet you and listen to stories at the Superior Public Library!
