Those of us who live in the wild horse world are kindred spirits. Even though we focus on eastern US wild horses here at Grayce Wynds, I personally travel out West every year to visit different herds in different areas. I make a lot of human friends in the process. Marty Wright is a guide for folks in the area of Reno, Nevada. She sent me this photo of Virginia Range horses. They have quite a story. If you want to find wild horses in this area, I would be happy to help you make contact with Marty. You might get lucky enough to go to Happy Hour with the Pine Nut horses. Yep! Happy Hour every night. They come out of the hills for water. I preferred champagne LOL!

As many of you know, I was heading up to the mountains of Virginia to assist with the wild foal auction. Hurricane Helene put an end to the festival at Grayson Highlands State Park. These are some of the 28 babies that were rounded up to be sold. By Sunday night, Jerry and crew were able to take them safely to Jerry's farm in Rural Retreat. Jerry is president of the non-profit Wilburn Ridge Pony Association. If you might consider a sweet mountain pony for your family, please follow the Wilburn Ridge Pony Association on Facebook for further announcements. They make wonderful "pets." My neighbor has one in her backyard. We have 5 of them on the Preserve. God bless them!!
