Here's how to keep your furry friend safe:

1. Walk Early or Late: Stick to early morning or late evening walks when the pavement is cooler.

2. Test the Pavement: Place the back of your hand on the asphalt for 10 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pup.

3. Stay on Grass: Walk on grass or shaded areas to avoid hot surfaces whenever possible.

4. Protective Gear: Consider dog booties or paw wax to provide a protective barrier.
