One of my sweet puppy clients, Friday. At Lowe’s today with me and bunny tail boy. He’s a fantastic teacher when it comes to confidence with weird noises and smells (😉 since he can’t hear and puppies just trust him lol)
Lowe’s is a great place to teach puppies to have confidence and to build their relationship with you. But it’s all in the little things, viewing things from your dogs perspective, and learning to have fun while also staying on task and being focused.
Fridays people are absolutely fantastic with keeping up with all of their homework and socializing. I always tell clients that I can see when they do their homework or not. It’s the truth! It shows, keep up the good work ❤️

I occasionally offer daycare and train for select clients who need some extra help. This is El-ke, an absolutely gorgeous German shepherd puppy who comes to me to learn manners in different settings, how to settle, leash manners, and different play styles/behaviors with different dogs.
Is a water LOVER and always wants to play with the hose. She is a very good girl and I love having her over ❤️

Something that’s not aaas widely known about me, is that I went to school for graphic design for a while lol. Til I decided I wanted to do something different 😆 but- it is still something I enjoy immensely and like to think I’m good at😂
So recently I’ve made some logos, business cards(including my own!😁), and even Menus for a few people. And thought I’d share that on here as well!
Referring to the last photo - I’m also in the process of starting up my own Etsy shop. Where I’ll sell stickers (pre made of my own animals or just ones I create, or custom of your own 😉) and other various pet items such as dog bandanas. That’ll be announced more in depth with details as I finish it up!

We did a super fun face painting event today! All the kids were so sweet and wonderful! It was a great turnout!!

Someone asked me once if I take all my dogs on walks at the same time.
The answer is not a simple yes or no lol. It’s both yes, and no, and neither 😆
I don’t usually take my dogs for long walks- or walks at all. If I’m taking someone on a walk, it’s usually Pax. Since he’s deaf, sniffing is one of his all time favorite activities, ever😂 so we go on very slow walks where he sniffs everything as long as he wants. And he’s always exhausted afterwards!
Something people don’t realize, is sniffing everything is just as exhausting as going on runs or fast walks. They use sooo much of their brain power, and physical energy to sniff the world around them. It’s been proven that for a dog- A 15 minute all sniff walk, is essentially the same as a 45 minute run.

But why don’t I usually take my dogs on walks? They don’t need it. And you also really don’t want to build up endurance with your dog because then you have to spend more and more time trying to give them what they need. I give them so much mental and physical stimulation without the walk!:) They eat their breakfast (or dinner, whichever I decide for the day) in the yard all together. Because… you got it, sniffing 😉 sniffing is AMAZING mental and physical stimulation for your dog. You can split it up into snacks throughout the day for dogs who need extra stimulation. There are “seeking assisted” toys such as snuffle mats to make it extra fun. Or freeze treats inside ice. Or a frozen lettuce head with treats inside to rip apart and maybe eat. There are many choices that are better than-Or as an addition to walks.

But sometimes I do walk them all. And it’s not as chaotic as you’d think lol. We have rules. When cars come, we practice down stays. When dogs pass, we practice down stays. It’s very important to know that you have your dog’s attention especially when in a large group, so that the walk goes as smoothly as possible. For me, the boys walk in front of the group together, and the girls walk by my side lol. Those are their personally chosen spots, so that stays pretty consistent. The most crazy it gets is Pax and Lexio trying switch sides around each other to find smells lol. But they honestly do great 💖

I meant to post this yesterday but it didn’t happen to here it is now lol…

Furbaby Friday… Saturday 😆

I’m going to introduce, Percy.
The dog who was my inspiration for the name Percy’s Pawprints.
Percy was my very first personal dog, not a family dog, MY dog. I got him as a gift right out of high school as I started college. And we were inseparable.
This dog was the definition of a heart dog, my soul dog. I have yet to come close to what I had with this dog, and that’s ok. That’s normal for those of you who’ve had similar experiences. It’s also normal for the memories to fade, and decide to randomly come back.

Percy was my first hands on experience with training dogs that wasn’t through just giving advice to people where I didn’t have the hands on experience. He taught me, how to train dogs. And that I loved it.
He went everywhere with me, literally, everywhere. College classes, hangouts, trips, everywhere lol. People who I didn’t recognize would know his name and talk to him.
He had a love for balls that Lexio has.
He had the always cling to me personality that Maevis has.
He had the speedy zoomie rolling all over the ground moments that Pax has.
He even had the cuddly sweet lay with you for hours personality that Secret has.
And he had the adoration for shaking and throwing toys that Echo has.
He had it all. He loved everything. He was so empathetic and careful and not destructive or barky. I was very lucky to ever be loved by him.
Unfortunately he also loved to chase cars.
If you’ve seen me with my dogs now, when there’s cars I typically ask them to down stay. There’s a reason for that.
Anyways this is a lighthearted post, not a sad one.

Lexio after tonight’s play and work session😆 He is always filthy afterwards lol. But he loves it, he’d go and go forever if I let him. When we’re done I tell him “all done, go drink water”. He does it, and then hops up into bed to be happy😂 and sleep. He gets restless without getting it out, and he knows working helps him feel better. Routine is key ❤️ Working dogs are rarely couch pets, even though he is pretty darn cute and likes a good snuggle on the couch. He’s too busy to want to be up there for long😂 His crate is his calm down place where he feels most comfortable to relax after a good workout. I often catch him in there sleeping upside down😆… anyways, Lexio says goodnight! 💖

I know it’s been a minute! I’m going to start posting here more!!
Starting with- on some Fridays I’m going to post about a Furbaby! Introducing one of my dogs, or posting about how they’re doing that week! Maybe I’ll even feature dogs outside of my personal pack sometimes 🥰
I do this with dog training clients over on Jack's Legacy AZ as well 💖

I’m going to start off with -

Maevis💚 since today is her 1st birthday! 🎉🥳 Happy Birthday Mavey Wavey🥰

maevis’s designated color is green!
Maevis is an Australian Shepherd, she’s on the smaller side as her old working line genetics are strong! She is fiercely loyal, and is probably my most trustworthy dog in almost any situation. She is often called the best behaved of my pups simply because of her crazy high drive to work and learn mixed with her shockingly low energy level.
At about 35 pounds- the smallest of my pack, (and the youngest) she has the most attitude and always wants to be the direct center of *my* attention lol. She gives funny little howls when she’s excited to go outside in the morning, or when I’ve returned back home after being gone for any period of time.
She actively wants to go out and work, and will always choose that over play. Working is what’s fun for her lol, which is great for me 😆
She will herd Lexio, while Lexio is playing with his ball.
She is concerned about what the cats are allowed to do, and what they’re not allowed to do. She doesn’t appreciate when they rub on her lol and always scoots away from them.
She is very curious and wants to go everywhere with me and check out everything possible, but she’s not particularly social. She’s not interested in people or dogs, unless she’s already decided she likes a certain person or dog. But even then, she’s not overly interested. She’s very stable in that sense. On the flip side of that, she’s opinionated and doesn’t appreciate dogs that get up in her face and don’t listen to or respect any personal space, and honestly I understand that haha. Which all works great for me as that all helps drastically with her service dog training since she doesn’t have that distraction.
She is not really treat/food picky and will almost always take it, but she definitely has her favorites lol. She currently likes fruit, and meats😂
She is typically who people see with me, as she is always with me lol. She loves to explore and is happy to check new things out and do confidence building exercises. She’s also a snuggler and is the one who likes to sleep on my bed most consistently(pax is a close second 😆💖) she doesn’t mind when the kittens snuggle her while on the bed lol.
She’s photogenic and likes having her picture taken. And she likes to have her ears flat on her head so that you can’t see them 😂
She is nervous of small kids as our interactions with them are few- but is confused and fascinated by them. so hey if anyone wants to help us with her socialization and confidence building with kids! Let me know 💖

I introduced Maevis to agility for the very first time, and she blew my mind once again. She had absolutely no issue with any of the equipment(including the teeter totter) and and LOVED every second. Look at that face 😆 she was in heaven 🥺❤️ my pretty girl
