The City of Marshall sought out and received our animal sheltering expertise years ago when they were struggling with their old animal shelter. Our report on the condition of their shelter and recommendations to City officials put them on a path that would lead them to a brand new facility that better accommodates pets and serves the people of Marshall, TX.

Animal Shelter Services is conducting a nationwide search to find the next leader for the Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC). Located in Davenport, Iowa, the HSSC is an open admission, socially conscious animal welfare organization serving the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. Reporting to the nine-member Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for setting the vision and direction as well as general oversight of the humane society with an annual intake of between 2,500-3,000 animals, which includes administration of all programs and services, and managing and developing a budget of nearly $1M. There are approximately 25 staff and a small volunteer base.

The ideal candidate to lead the Humane Society of Scott County, will:
- be forward-thinking,
- have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an animal shelter environment,
- possess at least 3 years of management experience,
- have animal medical knowledge,
- have strong relationship building skills and be community-minded,
- be strong in shelter operations,
- embrace growth and improvement for the organization.
