This is your friendly reminder that Maine C***s DO NOT do well in the heat. Please do not let your kitties be in their catio or outside for more than 10-15 min when it is hot outside. Make sure they have plenty of cool water and a cool place inside. Signs of overheating are: Panting, Lethergy, and fast heart rate. If you notice any of these warning signs get your kitty to a cool area immediately and dip paws and belly in cool water and cool water to drink. Follow up with a vet if symptoms don’t improve.
