Kuperus Meadows is a family owned dairy farm in Wantage milking 140 Holstein cows and farming a few hundred acres of corn, soybeans, and hay locally.

The family participates in the Open Dairy Show at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, as well as the New Jersey State Dairy Show each summer. This past year, they won both Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder at the Sussex County Fair, as well as the Grand Champion of the show!

Matt Kuperus handles the reproductive responsibilities for the dairy cows with a goal of continuing the family’s success at more competitive dairy shows. This year, Matt exhibited his junior two-year-old Kuperus Altitude Ruby Red at the World Dairy Expo!

Matt says, “Farmside plays an important role in our calf raising process by supplying us with Purina Ampli calf starter, which we feed our calves from when they are born until about 12-weeks old. We have had great success with this starter and we hope to have great results going forward, like we did this year with Ruby-Red who was started on the same feed.”

Black Oil Sunflower Seeds are a favorite among birth enthusiasts for good reason! These nutrient-rich seeds are good for a variety of birds and will attract large and small birds to your feeder. The DeGroat family started showing beef cattle for the NJ State Fair at the 4H Market Animal Sale as part of the Top O'Jersey Beef Club. Over time, they added a few heifers to their show string and became members of the American Hereford Association. They've since traveled throughout the US for fairs and shows, including Junior Nationals. At Farmside Supplies, we are proud of their accomplishments and happy to partner with them in their efforts!

Jen says, "Farmside has helped us get certain feed supplements that we add to the cattle's feed to help balance them where it is needed. Purina supplies a wide range of feed supplements for your cattle or any farm animal. We had a show heifer that was on our feed program for a few weeks, and every time I looked at her and thought she needed something I gave her Depth Charge. It didn't take long for us to see the change we were looking for in Alice. We are currently using another supplement from Purina, Ultra Fill, and liking the results. As our calves grow and develop we keep them on a great feed program, and John is always there to help find and order whatever we need!"

This is Pemi! She is a two-year-old Goldendoodle who loves people almost as much as she loves playing fetch. She came by Farmside Supplies this week to pick out her Christmas gift!
