Sky was a ray of sunshine. This little Mare came to us as a severe starvation case and a back injury at 5 years old and in foal. She lost the foal at approximately 5 months. Her body was not strong enough.
She regained her weight but gave the farrier nine kinds of trouble trying to protect the back injury. She loved back scratches and had two great herd buddies, Mel and Charlie.
With a possible storm coming in, I brought her and her buddies into their stalls at 10:30 Monday night. She was not stressed or showing any signs of pain or colic. We said our good nights and called it a day. The next morning, the donkeys, Charlie and Sky, are the first to be fed.
It was a tremendously sad shock to find her deceased in her stall.
Sky had a great life with a herding family and caretakers who loved her.
Always enjoy the people and animals who have been placed in your life.
She touched many lives.
Celebrate those who have gone before us, knowing that everything and everyone leaves impressions on our hearts.
Celebrating her life.

Tigger is Mom's cat, who has moved in with us and is now one of the office associates. He is a year old and a big cat that loves to play.

I want to thank our volunteers and all the individuals and families who donated to Osborne Stables Equine Rescue on Saturday at the Wilson County Home and Garden Show.
We met some great people and some hopefully future volunteers. With one outstanding pledge, funds will come to $505.

Our old New Holland has seen its better day's.
With a leap of faith, we financed this shinning new Kabota and new shredder.
Thanks to Troy Wilson a Ewald Kabota in Floresville.
Osborne Stables Equine Rescue is excited to have such great farm equipment.
We sent in the first payment yesterday.
The tractor is my right hand with it comes to unloading feed and hay.
Let's Fundraise and get this baby paid off!

The Osbornes are the hardest working folks in this area when it comes to Equine Rescue!
They are a Non-Profit and all heart when it comes to rescuing horses. 🐴
Now they and we are so proud of this partnership.

Friday the horses received a big gift.
It took a team to make this work. Dorothy Wolf loaned her tractor, Joe ans Sheri delivered her tractor, Richard Sutherland unloaded the trailer, Tommy Railsback from Rockport transported the load with his personal truck and trailer and guided the lift, to 10 paletts of miscellaneous feeds DONATED by Ace Hardware in Rockport.
We are keeping the type of feeds used here and doing a donation basis distribution to livestock owners in need.
Available feeds are: Chicken scratch grains, Pellets and Crumbles, Cattle starter, cubes, and AllStock. Even catfish food for your stock ponds.
What a blessing!

Thank you to all the volunteers that worked today's sale. The rummage sale was a great success. We raised $1088 dollars.
Just in time to help with Merlot's cancerous growth removal two weeks ago at Retama Equine Hospital. The bill was $1500 including the take home medications.
Two more horses need simular treatment.
