Our cute shelter pup, Baby and Miss Cathi playing. Baby is 11 months old. She is very sweet and cuddly and loves to play!! She plays very gently to be so young. She is hoping to soon find a play companion in a forever home.
If you’d like to meet Baby please stop by the shelter or call us at 765-2200 to set up a meet and greet. ❤️🐾
Lou and Pete
Louie and Petey are still looking for a wonderful foster home to hang out in until possible rescue or even better an adoptive forever home! ❤️
These sweet boys are our distemper survivors and they are thriving, healthy and ready for forever homes. They are 16 weeks old now. They are currently working on manners and an indoor routine. They are socializing great with their current foster family’s dog. Pete is a little more outgoing than his brother Lou, but both are learning what one on one attention, love and affection are. They are doing well potty training, love toys and do well in a crate. If you would like to meet Pete or Lou please give us a call at 765-2200. We would love to find wonderful indoor homes for these boys. They are growing fast!
Pet spotlight 😍 Gretchen is a 12 year old Norwegian/Husky mix, we are guessing. She’s a very sweet girl and still loves to play. She does have some arthritis but still gets around really well and she loves hugs . So far at her shelter stay she hasn’t been aggressive towards any other dogs or cats. Thanks to Shiloh fellowship part of her adoption fee has been sponsored. If you’d like to meet Gretchen or any other of our adoptable dogs please stop by the shelter or call us to set up a meet and greet ❤️🐾
Our lucky Winner for our summer yeti fun fundraiser is Cindy Nettles, congratulations ❤️🐾. We would also like to Thank Edie Tichner for donating this amazing summer raffle prize in memory of her husband, Tom. Thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket to help the Braxton County Animal Shelter pets ❤️🐾
34 of our shelter dogs loaded up at 5am for their freedom ride today! It’s an exciting day when they bust out of the shelter and make into foster homes! Thank you so much to Awesome Paws Rescue for networking our dogs, pulling our dogs and meeting us to transport. Also thank you to Open Arms Rescue and Volunteers for Animals for giving some of our dogs a fresh start. We appreciate everyone who helped make this happen.

Bailey’s trainer, Jada from OLK9 Wild to Wonderful Dog Training, came to the shelter today to spend some one on one time doing a refresher with Bay and to teach the shelter staff some basic training techniques. We can’t believe this gorgeous girl hasn’t found her perfect forever home yet but we’re certainly hoping to find someone adventurous, fun and willing to continue her training. Give us a call to set up a meet and greet with Bailey if you think you can give her the good life. (304)765-2200
And thank you Jada! ❤️🐾
