These two keep giving AND keep winning! Ashley Marascalco and the talented Dracarys ( Don Nobless x Sandro Hit) did their first Intermediare 1 at the very nicely improved Wills Park Equestrian show grounds in Alpharetta, GA and hosted by the GDTCA. Two solid tests with winning scores. This horse keeps suprising us by his talent and to see him grow into the show ring is just AMAZING! Job well done Ashley and Dracarys! 👍🏼 Thanks TEAM TO MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN! 🙏🏻

We are looking for a DRESSAGE RIDER who could be an addition to our Atlanta Dressage Team!!
Based on qualities and credentials we can provide an environment which allows the candidate to start, grow or expand a training business. Candidates have to have a minimum riding experience of FEI/PSG with some experience in riding GP movements. Rider would work under the umbrella of Atlanta Dressage and under supervision and guidance of Roel Theunissen and Adam Lastowka. Living in the Atlanta OTP area is preferable. It’s been awhile since Adam Lastowka was out in the show ring. Today he came back with Paige and Mark Huff’s talented Glamourdale mare “ Kyra Begijnhoeve” taking the blue!! Kyra showed a solid, first time PSG test with lots of brilliant moments. Very expressive changes and of the ground trot work! Awesome job Adam and Kyra! 👊🏼 Excited about the future! 🇺🇸

So proud of these two!! Emma Luersman and Jaristo won the Intermediare II YRon both days and Sally Kinney with Adam Lastowka’s Ovation got the blue on both day at the Intermediare I. Both girls are so determined and putting daily efforts in getting better and better and it’s just AWESOME it shows of! 👍🏼 Great job ladies!! 👍🏼

This is such a touchy subject in the industry and it always takes a bit before we are REAL about what it truly cost to keep/care for a horse. If you run your own little barn you’ll deal with a different picture then when you run a 15-20 stall barn. Do we really account for all expenses we are carrying? Labor, insurance, electric, water, facility maintenance, paddock maintenance and seeding, manure disposal, arena maintenance and footing up keep, damages etc.??? Let’s not forget how many hours do we as business owners put into this without getting paid for any of them. We all love our clients however none of them is happy when we come up with another price increase. Our grain supplier , dumpster pick up company, credit card company all have no problem to throw huge price increases at us because they are just in the same boat like any other business owner and they reflect these expenses back onto their customers! Should we just sit back and smile and tell everybody “ we love horses?” ?!? The truth is that it’s almost impossible to get ahead without looking like a thief!! 99,9% of barn owners are not making anything on the board! It’s getting time we all are not afraid to charge what things cost. It is what it is and as an industry we should be clear. There are too many trainers out there who are afraid to have these “money conversation” with their clients and therefor compromise to their and their clients comfort level. If you are a trainer who put your life into making this a honest living, having the integrity of doing a fair job and charging fair rates for the services you provide you should go back to the drawing board and get REAL!
As an industry we should set the tone with charging fair rates just like any other industry out there. 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Awesome finish of the Florida Seasin for Phyllis Sumner. After winning the CDI AA PSG with Moxy on Friday, today Phyllis took the win in the CDI Inter1 AA Freestyle with Soprano! The best ex*****on of her Freestyle was shown by the pair today. Producer Rob Evan got rewarded with a 8.2 for his Rocktopia Music. 👊🏼 Dutch Judge Maarten van der Heijden had the pair at a 75+%!! 😱 So much more to come for Phyllis and her 2 awesome horses. Big thank you to Ashley Keller who took on the grooming job this season and kept the horses in top condition and looking up to the level! Awesome job Ashley! 👍🏼 Just great to be part of this journey! 🙏🏻

Such a GREAT season in Wellington this year! 🤩 Very proud of our peeps who competed and did well! Emma Luersman and Jaristo got their feet wet at their first CDI in the 🇺🇸. Phyllis Sumner with Soprano 9 did the same and with Moxy, Phyllis had successful rides and high scores at the Inter1. Ashley Marascalco and Dracarys rode through the PSG in the National classes and ended in the CDi ring on Sunday for the YH Future Challenge class. So exciting! Ashley Keller and Lingh showed at the GP and got their Gold Medal score! 👊🏼 Well done everyone! 👍🏼 Thanks to Phyllis and Bob Sumner for allowing us to be at their beautiful Fillegran Farm which is an absolute oasis for horses and riders! ❤️ Thanks to Leslie Morse for coming out from CA to help us. Love your lessons! 👊🏼 Always great to be in Wellington and alway great to go back home as well which has all been kept together by our super girls: Betsy, Adysen, Amber, Halle, Sally and Emily. 👍🏼 Bottom line: Life is GREAT where ever we are!! 🙏🏻.

DRACARYS… you are something!!! 🤩🤩 A year and a half ago I bumped into this really cute 5 yrs old in Holland who got me on his personality!! 🤦🏼‍♂️ He was pretty, hyper alert, had some really good feet, 3 very correct basic gaits and when he trotted outside on the pavement in the pouring rain he came of the ground so much that i thought “you are mine!” 😋 From that day this horse has been showing us his talent and today having him in the CDI 🇺🇸 ring, showing in the PSG YH Future Challenge at Global in Wellington is making me absolutely emotional! 😬Dracarys turned into my son who needed to be taken by his hand to avoid he would get into trouble!!! I’ve never had a horse that turned to his “father” so much when he felt insecure! It was clear to me that daddy had to let him taken by the hand by somebody else to figure things out. Ashley Marascalco took him on and she has done a BRILLIANT job with him!
Today he showed he belongs in those arenas! As much as his little heart was beating 3x as fast as it should he took on this environment asking his mom to keep him close and he showed his talents and quality. Dracarys …. daddy is proud of you and Ashley….you are tha bomb!! 🤩😍🤩

It was great to collaborate on Phylis’s Reserve Championship winning freestyle with her brother, Rob Evan, who is a Broadway producer and singer . Rob produced the music production Rocktopia and is now working on a horror movie. Great to get his input and experience by developing this freestyle, which got a lot of compliments on music choice and choreography! 🤗 Congrats to team Sumner. 👍🏼

On our last sales trip we drove and flew many, many miles to get to find this awesome mare at Remy Bastings barn in The Netherlands. This 9 yo mare by Negro x Gribaldi will find her new home with us and has been acquired by Phyllis Sumner as her next up and coming GP horse.
