SUMMARY
Provides Unleashed Customer Service to all current and potential PetSmart customers. Responsible for following company policies and procedures.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Delights Pet Parents and helps achieve PetSmart’s DOG strategy; “Delighting our Customers,” “Operating Excellence” and “Growing Services”.
Builds partnerships, provides Unleashed Customer Service, educates Pet Parents on PetsHotel and all other PetSmart services.
Makes sound decisions regarding pet boarding, day camp, and day care including declining a potential Pet Parent when a situation could potentially violate established policies and procedures.
Communicates effectively with all Pet Parents and Associates.
Demonstrates care of pets, is compassionate and takes appropriate action when pets are ill, become injured or needs special care.
Analyzes and regularly monitors guests for potential illness, stress and behavioral issues to ensure safety of the pet and other guests and communicates any concerns to PetsHotel Management or Senior PetsHotel Associate immediately.
Demonstrates empathy towards pets and is knowledgeable about pet care and safety.
Ensures the health and safety of all pets and associates in the facility.
Ensures pets are receiving proper care through effective implementations of the policies and procedures.
Maintains a basic knowledge of pet health and medication issues in order to ask appropriate questions.
Investigates and identifies potential system problems. Reports concerns immediately.
Performs all tasks assigned.
Performs all tasks necessary to maintain the health and welfare of our pet guests.
Cross-trains on Guest Services Associate tasks.
Assists and works in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned including the Pet Photography Studio, if applicable.
Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES
High school diploma or GED preferred.

The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift in excess of 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places, regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particle and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Pet care and handling is necessary to perform this job.
