We have some of the best clients! Yesterday we got a delivery of the most delicious bagels and cookies from New York 😍😍
A little bit of kindness goes a long way. Some days we barely get to eat on shift so getting a delicious delivery almost brought tears to our eyes!

We had 2 heroes in the house today!!
Smokey and Pascal both donated blood to help save kitty lives. Smokey belongs to one of our receptionists and Pascal belongs to one of our relief RVTs. Thank you guys so much!!

Our power is back! 🙏🏼 Hopefully the storm holds off and it stays that way. But we will keep it updated here if anything changes.

Debby got us! 😞 We unfortunately have no power and have to severely limit patient intake. We can still triage any patient that shows up but may be limited in the treatment we can perform.
We still have staff taking care of current hospitalized patients.
As soon as the power is restored we will reopen completely. We will update here as soon as that happens!

We have a great community of vets in this area and unfortunately we are all short-staffed and trying our best!
Even the days we are closed for intake we still have technicians and assistants working around the clock to keep our hospitalized patients cared for. And our staff vets are giving up their days to be on call in case we need to reach them about a patient!

A pet owner’s worst nightmare is taking their animal to the emergency veterinarian. Unfortunately, Onslow County pet owners have limited options when it comes to emergencies.

The other day our Medical Director, Dr. Tonkin, and our tech in training, Jasmine, volunteered at Colonial Capital Humane Society !
They did at least 30 microchips, FELV/FIV tests and rabies vaccines for their kittens/cats!

We couldn't snag pictures of them because they're always BUSY and moving!
But we'd also like to thank our Kennel Techs Jasmine and Ashley!
They do our dirty work and always make sure our patients have clean houses, blankets, towels, etc. They clean the hospital and instruments, do laundry and SO much more. We truly could not run without them!!

She has been a veterinary assistant for 4 years and is currently studying radiation therapy. We never want her to leave and might just chain her to the hospital....just kidding...maybe.
Her favorite dog breeds are pit bulls and labs and she has 3 dogs at home.

He's been with the clinic for two years off and on while in college, but he graduated in May so now he's with us full time (😁😁😁) while applying to vet school. He catches on quick and we're lucky to have him!!
His favorite dog breed is dachshunds and he has three at home.

Meet Kaitlyn, one of our assistants.
She's been an assistant for about 5 years. She loves client education and euthanasia after care. After experiencing a traumatic event with her own pet, she strives to bring a positive outcome to a traumatic loss.
She loves German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois and has a special patience for anxiety and fear ridden patients. She was a student dog trainer before entering the veterinary field.
Veterinary medicine is where she found her home and she strives to complete her schooling to become a Registered Veterinary Technician so she can continue to make a difference!

Meet Chewy!
Chewy came in for what we and the owner later found out was Sago Palm toxicity. Sago Palms are highly toxic to animals and more times than not, fatal. It can cause gastrointestinal irritation, neurologic depressions and severe liver damage including a decrease in blood clotting ability.
Unfortunately, Chewy was exhibiting symptoms of all of those. Chewy was with us for about a week receiving numerous plasma transfusions, different medications and around the clock nursing care (from some of the best if we do say so ourselves!). Our staff started to see Chewy turn the corner for the better (pictured sunbathing outside to celebrate) and HE WENT HOME! Not even a Sago Palm can beat Chewy!
