⭐️It was a big week for the breeding program!⭐️
- Sunday: Izzy turned 5 months old
- Tuesday: We welcomed Chocolatti (5yo OTTB) home as a new broodmare prospect
- Thursday: We began the weaning process
- Saturday: Ike turned 6 months old
I’m really proud of these mares and foals and we can’t forget Tink who is now in full “Grandma” mode with 2 freshly weaned foals.

Welcome home Trooper 😊!! We added another one to the lesson horse herd today. He’s a 10yo 15.3H crossbred. Looking forward to seeing what this handsome guy can do 🐴

We had 2 riders qualify for the USEA American Eventing Championships this year! Emma and Quinn competed in the Jr Training division at their 4th consecutive AECs and Pascale and Martini made their AECs debut in the Master Amateur Beginner Novice division. Emma placed 7th, finishing on her dressage score of 34.8 and Quinn won the Reserve Champion Thoroughbred. Pascale placed 6th, finishing on her dressage score of 33.4 and Martini won the Reserve Champion Thoroughbred. A fantastic week for everyone involved 🤩

Isochromatic is a registered, microchipped, Oldenburg/ISR bay c**t by Iceman de Muze (Belgian Warmblood) out of At Least (OTTB) born on April 5, 2024. He is expected to mature around 17H. Ike's sire is a Grand Prix show jumper and his dam retired sound from the track as an 8 year old with 41 starts. He was purpose bred for eventing, but has the potential to go in any direction. At the Oldenburg/ISR inspection, he received an 8 on movement and 7.9 on overall type. He is sweet and loves attention and scratches. Ike has been handled daily and gets plenty of turnout with a small herd. He will be available after weaning in October. Special considerations made for Eventing/Performance homes. Izzy's sire is a young dressage stallion by Sir Donnerhall I and her dam retired sound from the track as a 7 year old with 51 starts. She was purpose bred for eventing, but has the potential to go in any direction. At the Oldenburg/ISR inspection, she received an 8 on movement and 7.9 on overall type. She is sweet and polite. Izzy has been handled daily and gets plenty of turnout with a small herd. She will be available after weaning in October. Special considerations made for Eventing/Performance homes. Real Eyes “Izzy” is ISR registered! She impressed everyone with some fancy trotting and was on her best behavior at the Oldenburg/ISR inspection at Hilltop 😇 It has been such a fun journey with this sweet girl so far…Lilo was also entered into the main mare book.

Tara Equestrian made its annual appearance at the equine exhibit at the Howard County Fair on Saturday! Tink, Jubilee, and Kirika got lots of visitors despite the two storms that blew through. I’m so proud of Tink and her girls and love getting to share them with all the fair goers 😀

Congratulations to Emma & Where’d It Go on their debut FEI (International) competition 🎉💪🤩! They put together 3 respectable phases for a 9th place finish and the TIP Championship (highest placed thoroughbred) in the CCI*-S division at the MDHT International this weekend.

We lost another elder statesman on Sunday morning. RIP to the big, handsome gray gelding ThunderCap aka “Cap” (2003-2/18/2024) 💕 Cap was purchased by Camryn and the Long family in 2010 and evented Training level. In 2014, he semi-retired to be an overqualified lesson horse for TE and he took several of Ashley’s students to horse trials, jumper shows, and dressage shows. He retired from the lesson/lease horse life in 2022 and lived his best retired life being a blank canvas for pony painting, doing ground work with campers, and cribbing on the fence 😊

RIP Winning Cool Colors aka “Beau” 🧡 2001-1/16/2024
We had to say goodbye to Beau this morning. He was purchased by Ashley’s student Shannon and the Long family in 2006. Shannon evented him through training level. In 2014, he achieved his life-long goal of becoming a lazy lesson horse for Ashley and spent the last 9 years teaching riders of all ages and abilities the true meaning of “more leg” 😉. He could do it all…jumping, barrel racing, babysitting…He will be sorely missed 🌈
