Hansen Dam Horse Park Hansen Dam Horse Park is one of the premier equestrian facilities in southern California. We offer a variety of boarding options.

Riders have thirteen training and show rings to choose from creating a pleasant environment for training or pleasure. Adjacent to the facility are more then 200 acres of additional parkland with a variety of trails to enjoy and explore. We regularly host shows and events for the enjoyment of both riders and spectators. Our banquet facility can accommodate guests for a wedding, reception or party. The facility is also an ideal setting for movie or television filming or photo shoots

🌟 HDHP Boarder Spotlight 🌟

HDHP is proud to be the home base for Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team. Since 1957, Blue Shadows has been introducing the horse world to many children who otherwise may never have the opportunity. Horse ownership is not necessary and in fact, most members do not own their own horses. Members participate in weekly drilling practice, horse shows, parades, trail rides and community events. This marked the sixth year Blue Shadows was in the historic Rose Bowl Parade.

✨ Groom Spotlight: Oliver – Groom / Assistant Trainer at SS Performance Horses ✨
Oliver is a fixture at HDHP and one we are all proud to have!

Oliver began his tenure here five years ago with Tom Foran and has stayed at the facility working for and with Stacie Wight of SS Performance Horses for the last four years. Oliver chooses horses because, “This is my life; they are my life” a statement that is evident when you watch him work. Oliver has a special touch with young horses and is able to be an important part of the training process for western horses and hunters and jumpers alike. In fact, many of our hunter/jumper trainers use Stacie and Oliver to help them get young horses going. Oliver is proud to work at HDHP and loves everything about the property. He is particularly fond of the park setting and the peace he feels here when working.

HDHP is proud to be a workplace for genuine, lifelong horsemen like Oliver.

🌟 HDHP Boarder Spotlight : Jan Boyd🌟

We haven’t done our research, but we are quite sure it is safe to say that Jan Boyd has spent more years in the saddle than anyone else at HDHP, 73 to be exact. Jan began her riding career at 7 years old with Roy Trailer in Eagle Rock, CA and continues today, at 80 years young, under the tutelage of Rainie and Shari Rose. Jan has been with the Rose duo for over 30 years and attributes her best years to Shari’s teaching talents and the talent of the late Tommy Lowe, who schooled many a horse to winning performances for Jan.

Notably, Jan rode Bacall and Gabrielina to many titles up and down the West Coast. Today, Jan rides former grand prix Superhorse, AgroStar around the hunters and has quite a nice time. Agrostar retired from the grand prix arena and has been paired with Jan for the last four years. Jan notes that he is one of the best horses she has ever owned and is rather opinionated. We can all attest to seeing “Agro” tell Jan exactly where he would like to go on their trail rides around the horse park.

HDHP is proud to have a lifelong equestrian like Jan at the facility. When you see Jan and “Agro” out for their daily walks be sure to say hi!
