Hansen Dam Horse Park Hansen Dam Horse Park is one of the premier equestrian facilities in southern California. We offer a variety of boarding options.

Riders have thirteen training and show rings to choose from creating a pleasant environment for training or pleasure. Adjacent to the facility are more then 200 acres of additional parkland with a variety of trails to enjoy and explore. We regularly host shows and events for the enjoyment of both riders and spectators. Our banquet facility can accommodate guests for a wedding, reception or party. The facility is also an ideal setting for movie or television filming or photo shoots

✨Groom Spotlight: The Grooms of The Clearing Farm ✨

Paco, Jorge, Antionio & W***y

Let us start by saying there is not a more friendly group of gentlemen on the property than those employed by Michelle Morris-Handler. To quote her, “My guys are what make me approachable!” Paco, Jorge, and Tony have been with Michelle for a number of years; 7, 5 and 2 respectively, while W***y is their newest hand and a terrific addition to the group!

Paco came into working with horses because of his love for animals, while Jorge dreamed of being a veterinarian as a child and felt this was, “as close as it was going to get.” No lie there, Jorge is quite the hand helping the vets when they come to treat! Tony got into grooming due to his love of this ranch! He always worked in agriculture and animals, and he found HDHP several years ago. Tony loves the ranch so much he even works for HDHP on Mondays, his off day at The Clearing.

Each of these special guys has a reason for loving the ranch, all of which touched us: Paco says, “I love Sam,” but really, he loves the atmosphere the horses of HDHP create. Jorge loves everything about the place. He loves the fact that no matter what happens with horses you must take the good with the bad, such as in life! And Tony finds the ranch to be a special place that brings him a great deal of peace.

HDHP is profoundly grateful for the culture of kindness that Paco, Jorge, Tony, and W***y contribute to our property. No matter who you are, these guys start your day with the most cheery, “Good Morning, Sunshine!” a habit that brings a smile to the faces of everyone on the property.

🌟HDHP Boarder Spotlight: Veronica Strecker 🌟

If you hear a British accent narrating a pharmaceutical commercial or audio book, there is a high likelihood that you are listening to fellow HDHP rider, Veronica Strecker. This might surprise you if you casually met her in the barn aisle, as her native accent is American! Originally from Kentucky, she, her husband, and their Savannah cat relocated to Los Angeles for her voice work in the entertainment industry.

Searching for an outdoor activity during Covid, Veronica decided to return to riding. Her barrel racing experience has transitioned to jumpers, and she is working towards her goal of competing in her first ever horse show. Her competitive energy is not entirely focused on participating in a Gold Coast show. She is also known to be a formidable D&D player. We are happy to have Veronica as part of the HDHP family.
