A post a day gets Aeros a home to stay! Day 112. Now that Akos has found a home, Aeros is our longest term resident. Let’s share this post to find Aeros a home!
Meet Aeros!
Age: 5 year old German Shepherd mix
Sex: Male
Weight: around 50lbs
Personality and Behavior: Aeros is very sweet and likes attention. He loves head scratches but is also content doing his own thing. He loves to play with and chew on toys. He is good on the leash and will sit for a treat! He is on the calmer side at the shelter, but does get the zoomies when he’s excited.
Dogs: He gets along with most dogs, but has had issues with other dominant male dogs. If you have another dog, please bring them in for a meet and greet.
Children: We think he would do fine with children, but meet and greets are always recommended.
Cats/livestock: He would do best in a home without cats and/or livestock.
If you would like to meet Aeros, please stop by or call the shelter!
Update: owners found!
Strays found: I have 2 strays at my house. A walker and a basset hound mix. Near Neddie mountain rd Tuckasegee 28783. Please contact 5153416609 if these are your dogs!
Enjoy this video of Ripp with his favorite volunteers!
Meet Ripp! Ripp is a 4 year old neutered male. He can be a little intimidating and wary of new people. He doesn’t show well in his kennel, but once out of the play yards he is very friendly and toy motivated. He does okay on the leash, but he is strong. He loves to be in the play yards and is friendly towards some dogs through the fence. He seems to be dog selective, so meet and greets are highly recommended. If you would like to meet Ripp, please call the shelter!
Meet Blue! Blue is a 1 year old neutered male. He came in 61 days ago as an owner surrender (with rebel). Blue is a sweet and wiggly boy. He is very playful, loves chew toys, and fetch. He is very food motivated. He does jump up when he’s excited, but stops once he calms down. He came in with another dog, and seems to like others through the fence, but meet and greets are always recommended. If you would like to meet Blue, please call the shelter!
Meet Max! Max is a 2 year old male Bulldog mix. He weighs 56 lbs and he came in as a stray 49 days ago. He is not neutered yet, so he can’t go home, but he would love visitors in the meantime. Max is a very happy and sweet dog. He loves treats, running around, and chewing on toys. He doesn’t always show well in his kennel, so give him a chance outside! He seems to get along with most dogs through the fence, but meet and greets are always recommended. Please call the shelter to meet Max!
Meet Ness! Ness is a 1 year spayed female. She weighs 43lbs and came in as a stray 57 days ago. She is very sweet and playful. Ness is very affectionate and seems to like everyone she meets! She still has puppy tendencies that include jumping and being mouthy, but that can be worked on in a home. She loves to chase toys and is very treat motivated. She seems to want to play with other dogs through the fence, but meet and greets are always recommended. If you would like to meet Ness, please call the shelter to set up a meet and greet!

Enjoy this video of Homer running around and playing with Cypher (also looking for his furever home) through the fence!
Meet Homer! Homer is a 1 year old neutered male. He came in with a couple other dogs over a month ago as a stray. He is super sweet, but does not show well in his kennel. He takes a lot of coaxing and treats to be leashed. Once out of his kennel he is a completely different dog. He’s happy and loves to run around the play yards. He likes head scratches and giving kisses. Please give him a chance outside of his kennel! He came in with other dogs, but meet and greets are always recommended. To meet Homer please call the shelter!

Goliath is a 3 year old neutered male and weighs 82lbs. He came to us as a stray 52 days ago. He is a big boy who is very sweet and likes attention. He does jump when he gets excited. He likes toys and playing fetch. He has a lot of pent up energy from being in the shelter and we would love for him to find a home soon. He seems to like most dogs through the fence, but meet and greets are always recommended. If you would like to meet Goliath, please call the shelter.
A post a day gets Akos a home to stay! Day 106. Let’s share this post to find Akos a home!
Meet Akos!
Age: 10 months
Sex: Male
Weight: 30 lbs
Personality and Behavior: Akos is very sweet and affectionate. He was scared to leave his kennel when he first got here, but he has really come out of his shell since being here. He’s playful and is full of energy. He does have some puppy tendencies, including jumping when he’s excited, but that can be worked on in a home.
Dogs: He seems to like other dogs through the fence, but he has become reactive through the fence since being here, so meet and greets are highly recommended.
Children: He does jump a lot so keep that in mind with smaller children. We think he would do fine with older children, but meet and greets are always recommended.
Cats: unknown
If you would like to meet Akos, please stop by or call the shelter!
Come meet our available dogs and puppies! We have a lot of sweet dogs that are waiting to find their forever homes! Green kennel cards mean they are ready to go home, but the ones that aren’t ready yet would still love to have visitors.
Please note, this video is meant to be an overview of who we have in the adoptable kennels, not to go into specifics of each one. If you see someone you’re interested in and have specific questions about them, please message the page, call the shelter, or stop by in person to meet them. We also do individual posts for dogs, highlighting their characteristics and what we know about them. In general, we do not know how these dogs are with children, cats, and sometimes other dogs. Adoption fees are $75 but we have a couple dogs with sponsored/reduced adoption fees for the month of December!
