These will be split into 2 incubators as the first half is due to hatch a week before orher half.

I'm so blessed and proud to be her Mom.

When I tell someone I need to talk it over with Laikyn. I mean exactly that. This girl busts her butt just as much as I do. We share this journey. There is times I want to sell and she doesn't so if we can't agree we don't sell.

Now I can't say we didn't argue over 2 growouts yesterday, I didn't want to band and feed but she was adamant we needed to see how they would turn out. So we banded them and they will be placed in our pet pen next spring. Till we can have another discussion about them lol

We got done recording , banding , nail trimming and prevention in about 2 hours.
Total head count on silkies is 37.

Currently I think we have 3 that will be posted available grow outs. All PQ no paints at this time.

Laikyn has officially picked 5 to start show conditioning next month or so.

Cleaning coops, finally banding all the keeper growouts. Then banding the younger growouts . Trying to get update pictures and everything done.

I have paper copies of the incoming birds we picked up over the last 6 weeks. But we are past time to update thr app we use!

I'll try to get pictures and videos as we go!

A follow up to my earlier post....

The 8 eggs that have been sitting on my counter as Laikyn and I discussed what to do.......

She said hatch.. all 8 went into the incubator and all 8 are growing with tiny little heart heats 🫣

I'm not sure we will ever really put the incubators away 🤣

This tiny cloud was sent straight down from heaven and you won't ever convince me other wise 😶‍🌫️😍

I also added in a picture of the c**k bird we picked up . He decided to be a bully through the cage and well lost half his crest. We both learned a lesson.
He's kinda a jerk lol But I'm hoping after alot of snuggles he will come around .

I have a few ideas for these two.
But Laikyn already has plans to show them next year!
She's going to have her hands full as she keeps adding to her line up of show birds.

Not every picture is going to be magazine worthy.... this is real chicken life here. Our growouts are enjoying running through the yard from time to time finding all the grubs and new dirt baths areas that their hearts desire.

So here is another Gen-1 paint pullet.

This post is mainly just for us to be able to look back on and see our growth. 🖤🤍

Please remember Laikyn and I are raising silkies for us to enjoy and show from time to time. Yes we want SOP and yes we would love to maybe make champion row one day a few years from now. But I'm not going to jump on band wagons or join in on drama or even secret little clubs to try to achieve any of our goals.

We just love silkies and want to be around others who feel the same way!

I love when 3 breeders can make some magic happen.
I won't share yet who I teamed up with. She can share when she's ready.

But we are thankful to Railway Acres Farm for helping Laikyn and myself with so many nice silkies over the last year plus advice along the way 🙌
We also welcomed this super sweet lion head buck.

Laikyn hasn't stopped talking about his pigeons either. But that will have to wait till next spring.

Designed my own logo I've changed it so many times but I finally settled on something. Then I ordered HTV transfers. I can't wait to see the shirts finished!!!! Plus I can't beat the costs. Total for what it cost me money wise for the designer apps and the HTV transfer was less than $4 per logo!!!!!!
