FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM AND TIK TOC FOR AN INSIDE PEEK AT WHAT STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS GET UP TO EACH DAY AT THE RESCUE!!
Our Instagram and Facebook stories are great for viewing content that is more so about what our current resident dogs are up to each day while waiting for their forever families to come in and adopt them. Here you’ll often see pics and or videos of staff and volunteers interacting with our resident pups both at the rescue and off site too! The dogs love to get a break from the rescue once in a while so we are able to take them out on what we call crate escapes. These crate escapes are allotted for those who have been with us for a while or who might just need to get out for an afternoon of fun! So join us, share us, and follow along for more insider updates. And while you’re at it, hit the like button if you see a fury face you like🤗💚🐾 Your support is always appreciated!!
Carter
After a couple days of getting the rhythm of HHDR, taking plenty of walks, getting some cuddles and belly rubs, Carter (grey dog from the Bunkhouse) got to join friends. He and Jovi played and played! He is so ready to be somebody’s dog and leave this homeless life behind.
The most gentle and polite game of tug you’ll see today🤣

CRATE ESCAPE MONDAY
Walker is a fun loving dog who loves the outdoors - sun, rain or snow -- it does not matter. He has not met an adult that he did not love. Walker has not been living with any children, but he has been very friendly with all the teenagers that he has met while out on his walks. The foster has 9 dogs and Walker got along with all but one. He has not been cat tested. Walker is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He will fit well into a family or will make a good companion for a single individual.
Walker had a great time on his well deserved crate escape today. He has so much love to give. Him and his handler walked a couple miles at the parkway, watched the birds and water, then had some chicken nuggets to wrap up their adventure! He is great in the car, he will either lay down or stick his nose out the window. He knows how to heel and sit, we are working on lay down and leave it. This handsome floppy boy is a smushy sweetheart. These dogs truly come out of their shell when they get the opportunity to leave the rescue!
CRATE ESCAPE MONDAY🐾
Maeve is a young, happy, playful girl. She likes to play with other dogs and is learning how to walk on a leash. Maeve with her scruffy hair and sassy style came from a shelter in MS where she was picked up as a stray and is now ready for a fun new family! She has been working with our trainer and is very smart!
Today, Maeve and one our wonderful volunteers had a blast on their crate escape. They did 2 miles around green lake. While on their little stroll the two of them got to see a few bikers, cross over a big bridge and watch the fish jump in the water below. And then to finish the afternoon adventure they both got to sunbathe and relax while her volunteer handler read her book for a while. But of course Maeve favorite part of the whole outing was the pup cup treat on their way back to the rescue🥰
"She was a great walker, and car rider. Hopefully someone will love her as much as I do!" -volunteer🫶🏼
Sadie Kay is a sweet and loving girl who was dumped on a service road. She has average energy -- likes to play but is also content to snuggle up next to her human. She wants to please and is friendly when meeting new adults. Sadie has not lived with any children and because she is still learning her manners she would do best with kids 5 and up who are respectful of dogs. She is fine with other dogs after proper introductions. IT IS A NO TO CATS. Sadie is crate and house trained. She is very smart and will thrive in a home that will spend time with her and teach her new things.
This morning Sadie got a chance to enjoy the play yard all to herself! She made sure to give her handler lots of love in between each and every ball throw!
***We are open Thursdays from 12-6pm!
Come see Sadie Kay and all of our other available pups today!! An approved application is necessary upon arrival
