Command Run Through - Beans
Just like our pups need physical exercise, they also benefit from mental exercise. Most of the time commands are woven into everyday life, to keep things simple.
Client Tip: When stringing commands together like we do here, remember we donโt need to release our pup between every single command. That only gives us an unnecessary middle man and we want to communicate as plainly as possible. ๐๐ #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining

Khloe - Place
Training needs to fit into real life for our lesson clients. So when we say every moment is a training moment, we donโt mean you need to call into work to train your pup. We mean train for what you want. If your pup is a sock thief, or constantly at your feet, use those moments for training, working towards the result you want.
Khloe is in the place command, so I can clean and fold laundry in peace, without worrying if this sweet little rock eater has stolen a sock. Iโm able to get things done while she is also learning to avoid the excitement all this movement produces. Although, I do wish I got that excited about housework! Doing things this way means I can use my completely set apart training moments with my pups for a nice stroll or some tug, instead of drilling commands. Train for what you want, means giving your pups fulfillment tooโฆ unless that includes eating socks, that one is a no. ๐คฃ #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining

Maverick - Vacuum before and after confidence building
To say Maverick didnโt like the vacuum would be an understatement! Using the same methods to build confidence as we did with his human and dog reactivity, Maverick is now comfortable as the vacuum moves around the room. Message us today to help your pup be more comfortable in their everyday life. #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining
Maverick - Heel Progress
Youโll be seeing a lot of Maverick the next few days, he has been showing up and showing off! His demeanor around people has improved wildly. Having a healthy mindset when Maverick and I encounter things means encouraging indifference to those things. We created this mindset through play and exposure, and now he can do it without the training wheels. The result is a dog that understands but doesnโt fear correction and can continue to improve as their confidence grows. Great job, Maverick!
Hereโs Maverick, Amberโs current board and train, out working on some commands in stores. A week ago he struggled, wanting to bark and lunge towards people, even at a good distance. Heโs quickly gaining the confidence necessary to be indifferent with the people that exist in the world around him. Great job Maverick! #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining
Small moments add up! It is our responsibility to see those small moments, both good and bad and acknowledge them appropriately. Beans was on his first off leash hike last week and for this activity recall will be crucial for success and safety. First, take notice that Beans turns immediately at the verbal and Ecollar recall command cues, but would very much like to continue towards Trey and Dixie. My verbal encouragement tells Beans I am the right choice in the scenario and then heโs full throttle to me. A small moment with big impact, so that in the future he knows Iโm the option there, even if something fun lies ahead. When he gets to me, he accepts a head pat thinking thatโs enough to go scamper off again. Another simple verbal marker and he knows heโs missed a step and needs to sit in this scenario before heading back out. Again, a tiny thing to hold him accountable for. Those would be my expectations in a closed facility, so they are absolutely my expectations on his very first off leash hike with me. No yelling, no soul crushing, just โhey bud, thatโs not quite it,โ try again. Message us today to learn how to communicate with your dog about the little things for big results! And as always, give your pup an ear scratch from us ๐๐ #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining

We had the pleasure of going for a hike with Coco and her family last week. Coco participated in our 3 week board and train back in December after trying to escape the house by jumping into and breaking a window. Now Coco gets abundant freedom and trust from her family, because she understands expectations and respects boundaries. Message us today for lasting results and start living your best life with your pup! ๐๐ Give your dog an ear scratch from us! #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining
Coco comes to us all the way from Massachusetts. Her family is very active and wants to live a life of adventure with their pup. Itโs easy to treat small dogs differently, but that can thwart them from reaching their full potential. Coco is working on all the same commands, boundaries and reward systems that our bigger pups do and thriving. Play with your pups today and give them an ear scratch from us!! ๐๐ #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining
We show a lot of movement as trainers; dogs playing, loose leash walking, and recall for example. There are also times that they need to be able to sit still and do nothing, both for their safety and your own. #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining #CrateManners #SafetyFirst
Before you know it, parks and trails will be full of dogs again. Are you and your pup ready to live your best life together, free from the stress other people, dogs and small animals can cause? Happy Valentineโs Day from our sweet girl, Rugby. โฅ๏ธ #BarkAidDogTraining
Such a small moment with big impact. Nash is an excitable dog, so sometimes he tries to jump the gun on commands. Itโs very easy, especially with a pup this adorable, to let things slide, because heโs not actively being โnaughtyโ. Taking this opportunity to hold him accountable in a tiny instance helps him understand boundaries and means in bigger moments to come, heโll know whatโs expected of him. Great job, Nash and Trey! Reach out to learn how to excel with your pup! And remember to give them an ear scratch from us! #BarkAidDogTrainers #BarkAidDogTraining #PlayTraining #SyracuseNewYork #DogTraining #EcollarTraining
What clients want vs what their dog wants. Great news, everybody can have what they want! Engage with your dog in a way that is meaningful to them. People often expect things FROM their dog, without doing anything FOR their dog. #BarkAidDogTrainers #PlayTraining #NoLazyPlay
Bradley, out for a hike while he stays with us for the weekend. *Remember that we board previous board and trains!* Bradleyโs owners have kept him sharp and easy to take off leash with confidence when we havenโt seen him in months. ๐๐ผ #BarkAidDogTraining
Frank has been able to work on several things he struggles with through play. I know we are a broken record, but so many lessons are being taught in these moments where you and your dog are having FUN together. Some things Frank works on hereโฆ stability of the place commend, proper toy engagement (Frank used to go directly for my hand hoping to secure the toy), resource guarding (bringing the toy right back, rather than self play and eventually guarding when I approach), drop it, and creating a healthy activity to use as we attempt more difficult tasks in training. Way to go, Frank! #BarkAidDogTrainers
Coco and Karma handled an excitable dog beautifully on our recent hike. Dogs deserve to run free, play and sniff off leash whenever itโs age to do so. Your dog should be comfortable leaving your side, but responsive when told to come back. A large step towards this level of freedom, is not overusing commands, only asking for a check in if necessary. These two aced this hike and I see many more in their futures! #BarkAidDogTraining #BarkAidDogTraining #OffLeashHike #EcollarTraining
