Salty Dogs Kennel We are a small kennel specializing in select breeding of the German Shorthaired Pointer breed. We are a Veteran owned business.

We specialize in raising German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) with the intent of producing clean breed lines and pups with an overall hunting drive that will be impressive, yet still be a great family member. We look for traits that promote excellent hunting and even better companionship.

Our Story

We are a small kennel specializing in select breeding of the German Shorthaired Pointer lines. We look for traits that promote excellent hunting, and even better companionship. If you want a pup that incorporates the cleanest breed lines, yet can be handled like a baby, then you have come to the right place. Each litter we raise is done in our own kitchen… Thank God for tile floors and bleach! The point here is that these pups are handled all the time, and are exposed to our adult dogs as well. They are fed on demand, and you would not believe how much this helps! You won’t have issues with overeating, competition for food, or being territorial. If you remove the threat they a pup will not get enough food, then they never learn those bad habits. We also introduce our pups to birds early on, usually around 3-4 weeks. In combination with that we use noise makers, and startling sounds, to help get them accustom to gun shots and begin their hunting right where you want them; paying attention to you and your commands. We are a Veteran owned business.
