At Cuse Pit Crew, we are proud to have two incredible board members, Andrea and Barbara, who not only serve our mission with heart and dedication but also work on the front lines as animal control officers. Their commitment to the well-being of animals and their deep compassion for the community inspire us every day.

Animal control officers often do the hard, behind-the-scenes work—responding to calls, helping animals in need, and supporting pet owners through tough situations. It’s not always easy, but it’s always vital.

To Andrea, Barb, and all the animal control officers working to keep animals and people safe with empathy and care: thank you. Your work matters, and we see you. 🐶

🇺🇸 Serving Those Who Served—And Their Pets

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership between our Keep Us Together initiative and the newly launched Veteran Food Pantry at VFW Post 3146—the only food pantry dedicated exclusively to veterans in all of Central New York!

This incredible initiative is more than just a pantry—it’s a promise. A promise that no veteran, and no pet by their side, goes without food.

At Cuse Pit Crew, we know how powerful the bond is between people and their pets, especially for our veterans. Pets offer comfort, companionship, and healing. That’s why we’re proud to support this effort to ensure both veterans and their four-legged family members are cared for with the dignity they deserve.

How you can help:

✅ Volunteer your time to help stock, organize, and distribute supplies

The animal welfare community lost a hero last week. We're grateful for all Chris did for the cat rescue community. Rest in power, Chris ❤️

He ran back inside to save the cats. He never made it out—but over 150 cats did. His final act was one of pure, fearless love.

Christopher showed us what true devotion to animals looks like. May his legacy forever remind us that every life matters. May we carry his spirit of courage and compassion as we continue to protect the voiceless.

We honour you, Christopher. The world is better because you were in it.

Big news‼️ We’re proud to announce a new partnership with The Salvation Army Syracuse Area Services Women’s Shelter through our Keep Us Together program!

This collaboration means that women experiencing homelessness or escaping domestic violence no longer have to choose between safety and staying with their beloved pets. Every family—two-legged or four—deserves to stay together.

Thanks to this partnership, we’re delivering pet food, supplies, and support so that companion animals can continue to bring comfort, stability, and unconditional love during times of crisis.

Because love has no address. 💕🐾

April is Autism Awareness Month, and it’s one that hits close to home for us here at Cuse Pit Crew.

Our co-founder has both a niece and a nephew with autism, and through them, we’ve seen the beauty, strength, and challenges that come with neurodiversity. We’ve also seen just how important it is to have advocates—people who are willing to speak out, and fight for inclusion, understanding, and love.

It reminds us so much of the work we do with dogs. Like so many kids on the spectrum, our dogs are often misunderstood or overlooked. While kids with autism do have voices, they often communicate in their own unique way—and the world doesn’t always know how to listen. That’s where advocacy comes in. We educate and lead with compassion.

Recognizing Autism Awareness Month is our way of honoring those parallels and continuing our mission of being a voice for those who need support being truly heard—whether they walk on two legs or four.

This month, we celebrate the autistic community, the families who support them, and the advocates who stand by their side. Because at the heart of everything we do, it’s all about love, acceptance, and speaking up for those who need us most.

Exciting News!! We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Fayetteville Manlius Food Pantry to help support pet parents in need across Onondaga County!

Through our Keep Us Together program, we’re working to ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their beloved pets. This collaboration will help us reach even more families experiencing financial insecurity—because every pet deserves a full belly and a loving home.

A huge thank you to the Fayetteville-Manlius Food Pantry for helping us keep pets and their people together. We’re stronger when we work as a community!

The community rabies clinic was a paws-itively awesome success! We got to meet so many sweet cats and dogs—and the amazing humans who love them. It’s heartwarming to see how much our neighbors invest in keeping their furry family members happy and healthy. Big tail wags to the Onondaga County Health Department for sponsoring, Syracuse Parks & Rec for hosting, and our friends at Fixing to Help and Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter in joining the event to provide resources like free pet food, supplies, and info on low-cost spay/neuter. We love teaming up to support pets and their people! 🐶🐾
