Everyone loves a puppy, but who needs all those messes, and the destruction of at least 2 of your prized possessions? And you really never know how they'll turn out. In spite of our best efforts, some pups grow up to be total wrecks! This is Yeti. Nine years young, and a proven model! He barely barks, is not demanding in the least, and is just happy to be in your general vicinity. He's neither destructive or a runner. He's just a happy go lucky kind of guy, but he does need a permanent home. His owner passed, and sadly, no one in the family would take him in. He's been stuck in the shelter, mostly crated. For those of you who aren't aware we have dealing with kennel cough over the last few weeks. It kind of coincided with the end of allergy season which did not help when it came to realizing what was going on. I'm sure you've also seen in the news reports of a "mystery" respiratory illness. We all know how the media likes to sensationalize things, and there have been no confirmed cases in NY that I've heard, but we certainly need to take extra precautions! If your dog begins hacking, reverse sneezing, runny nose etc. keep them home away from other dogs until the symptoms have passed, or when necessary, veterinary treatment resolves them. If your dog is at daycare and is showing symptoms you will be contacted and asked to come take them home. We do not have a quarantine area here and upper respiratory illnesses are airbourne. Heads up everyone! It's cough and hack time! There is something going around. Once the ball starts rolling there's not much you can do but keep your dog away from others if they are coughing more than what's normal. In our experience even with the vaccine a certain number of dogs will end up sick. Most do not and it usually passes within 3-5 days. Of the 5 we have at home 1 has been coughing.

It's been awhile since I've posted any photos. Summer vacation boarding is over and we've been getting some great new dogs for daycare! Please share! Thor here is about as far from Tiny as a dog can be! His mom called today, sadly looking to find him a new home. He really needs to be an only dog. Mastiff's are an amazing breed, so hopefully this will reach the right person who can give him the home he needs. From his mom: "Thors birthday is 9/22/19. He is a lover of family and friends but prefers to be the only dog in the house. He's goofy, smart and loyal. He loves to just lay around and sit in the sun until you make him come inside. He's a good boy on a leash, is potty trained, up to date on all vaccines, has over 8 weeks of personalized training. He is the most amazing companion and will love you just as much as you love him."
