My sweet friend Ziggy would like to announce my 2025 closure dates. He knows that many of my clients like to plan around my time off, which I find incredibly sweet, and reinforces my philosophy that it takes a village to care for all of Tacoma’s kitty angels.

Here they are!

January 31-February 11, 2025
May 14-21, 2025
August 7-12, 2025
October 2-8, 2025

Unlike this year, I will be open for Independence Day next year, but please keep in mind that my neighborhood goes OFF with fireworks. For kitties in a strange environment, this can be very scary. While holiday rates will be in effect, there will be no additional charge for doctor prescribed & owner provided sedative medication administration.

September and October are almost full with a few spots left here and there. Thanksgiving weekend is almost full, as well as Christmas. Make your reservations now!

Dennis thinks it’s absurd that I work seven days a week and says I need to take vacations. It is unwise to argue with Dennis, so here are my closure dates for the rest of the year:

June 29-July 7
August 8-12
October 4-8
December 15-18

January 30-February 9, 2025

I am fully booked for Memorial Day weekend, and a few weekends throughout the summer. I also need to close my June pet sitting schedule to NEW clients. Remember to book your kitty care as soon as possible! Thank you so much to all my kitty clients and their families for making my dream of caring for cats (and bearded dragons, bunnies, doggos, birds, fish, chickens, goats, and hamsters) full time a reality!

A Good Samaritan found this sweet girl on their porch in the Lincoln District Saturday evening. She is in heat and probably escaped her family’s home. If anyone recognizes this sweet lady please let me know! I’d love to reunite her with her family.

Happy Friday, Grit City Kitty friends!

The day I feared finally arrived. Someone dumped this precious angel on my front porch without a crate or secure container. It was shear luck that I found her as I was leaving shortly after her arrival for a pet sitting appointment.

The porch camera video shows a very distraught woman and man tucking the kitten into one of the many kitty cubbies on my front porch. Fortunately, she didn’t go far before I saw her on my way out the door.

I made her comfortable with a soft, warm bed and contacted my animal hospital friends right away. Dr. McCann at Evergreen Animal Hospital tested her for FeLV/FIV (negative), started her vaccines, dewormed her, cleaned her ears, checked for fleas, and gave her a full exam. Apart from probable worms, which is very normal for kittens, she’s in great health! Someone cared for her very well, and based on the video I saw, it was not an easy decision to let her go.

She is a little tuxedo Manx kitten, approximately 9 weeks old. I haven’t decided if I’m going to welcome her into my Grit City Kitty family or try to find her a home. What do you all think? Do any of my clients want an adorable addition to their family?

That said, I am not a cat rescue. I spent $225 of my own money to have her seen. I’m feeding her and caring for her while I figure out next steps. Please do not send your friends to me with homeless animals in need. I lack funding, space, and time to care for animals in that capacity.

I’ll keep you all posted on this little girl’s adventures! If she tells me her name I might end up keeping her 😻😹

Just a sample of the kitties I’ve cared for in the last month since I expanded and went full-time with Grit City Kitty. 😻

Despite my expansion I am filling up quickly. I’m fully booked until mid-October, and Thanksgiving is sold out. If you suspect you will need boarding or pet sitting services in the future I highly recommend reserving space or time as soon as possible!

Grit City Kitty has expanded availability! The large room downstairs has become a cattery with four brand new cat condos ready for your kitties! The upstairs penthouse suites are also still available.

Even while on vacation I find kitties to obsess over. Meet Martini and Mimosa! They sleep under the covers with me, have entire conversations, and root through my luggage like tiny TSA agents. 😻😻
