Halloween is coming soon for our lovely pets 🎃
Here are some tips for the upcoming day!

• Stash the Treats! 🍫🍬🍭

- Any halloween treats are toxic to dogs and cats!
- Chocolate in all forms can also be dangerous.

•Watch for Decorations! Wires! Lights! 🙈

-Curious puppies, kittens, older, younger, are very curious about this time of the year. Spooky but fun for the look out!

•Lastly, keep your babies calm and easily identifiable‼️

It’s a dark and spooky night in Washington State!

Too many visitors may stress your kiddo out!
Be careful opening doors for guests!
Always make sure your pet is wearing proper identification, bright costumes, ID tags, microchip, collar.

October 12th is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day. Did you know 59% of dogs and 61% of cats were classified as overweight in 2022? Being overweight can lead to a number of complex issues for our pets and ultimately shorten their lives. We can give you a body condition score and discuss a plan for your pet's ideal weight at your next examination. World Rabies Day is a time for education and awareness. From the Global Alliance for Rabies Control, "[Rabies] is a zoonotic disease (transmitted between animals and humans) that is spread via saliva. This usually occurs via a bite wound inflicted by an infected animal, although scratches and even licks may also pose a risk. More than 59,000 people die from rabies every year, 99% of which are a result of exposure to an infected domestic dog. This means that a person dies every 9 minutes from rabies." Vaccination is the best form of prevention and hopefully someday, elimination of this awful virus. Are your pets current on their rabies vaccine? If not, we'd be glad to book an appointment for that core vaccine.

Fun Cat Fact: The small town of Talkeetna, Alaska had a cat for their honorary mayor. Stubbs was an orange tabby who held his reign for from 1997 until passed away in 2017 at the age of 20. What an incredible life!
