I had my nephew over to help on the farm, we spread out some shavings in preparation for more lambs to be born, gave them a squeeze, and now we are ready for more babies! We should be really getting going on lambs, so I’m gonna wash up all the eggs we have available and put out tomorrow. I know we have some possible colder weather heading our way, so get your eggs this weekend!

Tips for your roast lamb. (I call it Roast Beast)😉

Need tips on how to roast a leg of lamb? Here's a step-by-step guide 👇

➡️ Preparation: Begin by removing the leg of lamb from the refrigerator and allowing it to come to room temperature for about an hour. This ensures even cooking.

➡️ Seasoning and Marinades: Season the lamb generously with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs and spices. Popular options include rosemary, thyme, garlic, and olive oil. You can also marinate the lamb for extra flavor, but it's not necessary.

➡️ Roasting: Preheat your oven to 325°F. Place the seasoned leg of lamb on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast uncovered until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness, typically around 145°F for medium-rare. Refer to our time and temperature page on our website for precise guidelines.

➡️ Resting and Cutting: Once the lamb reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to be redistributed, resulting in a more flavorful and tender roast. Carve the leg of lamb into thin slices for serving.

That's it! You can find a more in-depth guide on our website, or click here: https://americanlamb.com/news/how-to-make-roasted-leg-of-lamb-for-the-holidays/

A old trick for your holiday meal!

Living in a circa 1840s farmhouse has taught me to not keep around items that are rarely used, those that only perform a single task on rare occasions. Our old farmhouse simply doesn't have the storage space to allow me to keep items on hand that are used once a year. If a tool, appliance,
