Some fluffy faces are back in the shelter again! 🐰

Now that construction for the lobby remodel is on the quieter side, we've brought back our adoptable rabbit pals to be seen by potential adopters. They've been spending time in foster homes during construction to get some rest and relaxation, but now they're ready to find their families!

We had another incredible week of seeing new families form in our shelter.

Sleepy Sundays with Karma 😴

This guy knows how to cope with how early it gets dark and all this rain we've been having - simply just nap through it! Karma is the best excuse to spend the weekend cuddled up and cozy on the couch 🥰 (He's even okay sharing with a feline friend!)

🐾💚Saturday Happy Tails from Kylo!💚🐾

Kylo was adopted back in June of 2019. Kylo, FKA Bunilla Ice, had charmed his adopter during their first meet and greet and they've been best buddies ever since.

Now, Kylo enjoys the finest greens and gets to free roam an apartment. He loves taking naps on the couch and has even become a local tourist. His favorite day trip is Whidbey Island and he especially enjoys riding the ferry. Kylo spends his days getting showered in love and affection. He is known to be a great listener and a friend to anyone he meets. He even has a few tricks up his bunny sleeves (he's a pro at "spin").

"Kylo and I have been pals for the past six years and I couldn't imagine what those years would've looked like without him. He makes me laugh everyday."

Congratulations to Kylo! He's really living the good life🎉

What else can we say but THANK YOU!!! 💚

Last week we put a call out for pet food donations as we faced an increase in demand with only enough resources to support one more month of Pet Food & Supply Pantry visits. Thanks to all of YOU, we’ve received an outpouring of support!

In the last week, we’ve received:
🐾 739 total bags of food
🥫 3950 total cans of food
🦴 106 bags of treats

This amount of food will allow us to continue to provide for our community members and keep pets with the families that love them through the end of the year!

Want to help us continue to keep local pets in their homes? Donations can be dropped off at our shelter at 2608 Center Street in Tacoma, WA or sent via our Amazon and Chewy wishlists.

We also have some South Tacoma Way neighbors that are drop off points, to help make donating pet food and supplies a little more accessible (and maybe have an excuse to grab a tasty bite to eat or do a little shopping at the same time 😉)! You may have seen the recent story about a large group of cats brought to our shelter by animal control after intervention by Tacoma Police Department . We’ve been overwhelmed by the compassion and support our community has shown in response, and we are beyond grateful!

Moments like this remind us that caring for pets in our community is achieved when we work together. While we can’t always predict when large cases like this will arrive, we can build a strong network of neighbors who know how to help animals safely and effectively.

Through programs like Friendly Finders and targeted TNR, and with shared information about what to do when you find a pet in the neighborhood, we’re working to empower our community to take action that truly helps pets.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to those who have served this Veterans Day.

Our shelter is a proud partner with Pets for Patriots , an organization dedicated to improving the lives of veterans and gold star families with animal companionship.


Our partnership with Pets for Patriots has brought over 135 pets into the loving arms of veterans at an accessible cost. Pets for Patriots brings comfort and solace purpose to those who have served and those who have lost loved ones in service to our nation.

Thank you veterans, and thank you Pets for Patriots for making adoption accessible for them.
