This makes me mad for my customers and people who don't know that I exist yet even though I've been here for 15 years 😂 Please tell your reptile, and arachnid friends of me so that they don't keep getting ripped off 🥰

Both of these cultures were started on the exact same day and one is dead and one is alive.

I bought this other culture from somebody else that's local to me to do a comparison.

My culture is still alive and thriving because I put way more food in it than other people's because they're cheap and they don't have you as a customer in mine when they make these cultures.

For some reason they think that you will be able to use all that culture up really quick and I know a lot of you don't use your cultures that fast.

It cost me a lot more money to make these cultures for my customers because I used at least twice if not three times more food for the flies in that culture so that they stay alive for longer for the exact same price.

If they care this little for flies what are they doing with their other bugs too You got to think about that. Are they feeding them the right food are they gutloading them for you? Hummm 🤔🤔

I'm sharing my disheartening experience with you all.

As some of you may know, I have a disability.

Today, I was subjected to discrimination.

I parked in a disabled spot, which I'm entitled to do with my disabled parking plates. I renew them every five years, and I recently did so last month.
A parking security person approached me, suggesting that I didn't appear disabled enough to park in a disabled spot even though I had disabled parking plates.
I responded by asking how they could determine the extent of my disability based on my appearance.
I'm proud to say that I maintained my composure and highlighted the inappropriateness of their assumption.
I explained that my ability to walk doesn't necessarily mean I'm not disabled. I felt insulted by their remark.
It's essential to recognize that disabilities can be invisible, and it's unacceptable to make assumptions based on appearance.

Not all disabled people use a wheelchair or walker.

I have sugar tree gumballs in stock and they're super cheap and only four for $1 It's a great add-on when you're buying isopods from me.

The little baby isopods love hanging out in the little crevices that are in the sugar gumballs and the gumballs stay off the substrate a little.

This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever written. Every day, we pour our hearts, souls, and paychecks into keeping this rescue alive. We’ve done everything we can to provide a safe, warm home for the reptiles in our care, but now we’re facing a crisis that could leave them in the dark—and the cold.

What many don’t see is the sacrifice behind the scenes. For those who don’t know, the two founders of the rescue work over 30 hours a week each, and every dollar they earn goes toward rent, utilities, food, and heat for these animals. Every budget decision is made to keep them safe. This is on top of both founders caring for all of the animals in the building full time as well. But sometimes, love and hard work just aren’t enough.

In May, we moved to the new building, due to dangerous electrical issues, and the added expenses were tough but manageable. But in October, we were blindsided by a $6,000 utility bill. Due to us having a commercial utility account, the “new account deposit” didn’t hit us until months into our usage. We made a payment plan, tightened our belts even more, and paid it off. But in focusing on that payment plan, we missed the monthly ones that came underneath.

Now, we’re facing another $3,000 due by Thursday—and this time, there’s no payment plan option. If we don’t pay it, the power will be shut off, leaving our animals in the freezing cold. Our reptiles rely on heat and light to survive, and as the temperatures drop, this isn’t just a bill—it’s a lifeline.

The founders managed to come up with $1,500 today, but we’re still $1,500 short. We’re asking for help—for these animals, who’ve already been through so much. Looking at the faces of the reptiles we’ve saved—the ones who rely on us to keep them alive—it’s hard not to feel hopeless. They didn’t ask to be here, and they don’t deserve to suffer because of an overdue bill.

We’re begging—truly begging—for your help. If just half of our 4.6k Facebook followers donated $1, we’d meet our goal and keep the lights on for these precious lives. Please, please consider donating. Every dollar makes a difference.

Doing what bioactive bugs are supposed to do.....clean up poo poo! 💩

Just to let you know that poo was fresh on the first little video and then the second video is 24 hours later where the poo was but was gone!

They do a great job so you don't have to clean up as often

Now if we can only figure out what bug will clean glass fronts 😂😂

This is how I start out all my isopods especially my expensive ones. I choose a very small enclosure I got these I think in a two or three pack at the Dollar tree.
I put in organic soil a little bit of Moss and a little bit of leaf litter and one small piece of cork for them to hide under.

I always start out all my isopods like this that way it's easy for them to find each other easy for them to start breeding. I want to make sure that there's lots and lots of isopods in there before I upgrade them to a larger enclosure or a terrarium.

At that point you could probably just use half of the isopods in that enclosure to start a new enclosure or put in a bioactive terrarium.

I mist them one a week

For those really large reptiles or arachnids I also breed orange head roaches!!
Look how big they are!!

I give them my leftover Pangea from my crested geckos. They are great at cleaning those little bowls up, and it's really good for gut loading. Not one spec of pangea's is ever left in any of those bowls!!

They come approximately 20 for $25 in a mixed size.

Another happy customer!!

This big guy here is Rio. He's a Theraphosa stirmi. It's is a species of tarantula belonging to the family Theraphosidae. He's species originates from South America. This species regularly gets 9-10 inches!!

It's common name is the burgundy goliath bird eater.

He eats the orange head cockroaches that I have available because they are so much larger than a dubia roach.
