Balanced training is not fear based training. #balanceddogtraining
Giving myself multiple corrections with a Herm Sprenger collar. Mind you our skin is thinner and much more sensitive than a dog.
Hazel’s 2 week update.
This is her full lesson, not sped up, and without music so you can see all of the corrections given and can see this is NOT “fear based” training as some would like to suggest..
When Hazel came to bootcamp she WAS a fearful dog, unsure of herself and the world around her. She would not play with a ball though her owners had tried.
Only through BALANCED training was Hazel able to gain the confidence to realize how much fun the ball is!
*note the only reason there’s a break in the video is because I had to go get the ball and attach the long line.
Took Bear to the lake this morning and he did AWESOME!!
I left the sound on so you can see how I dictate the walk, not the dog.
You’ll see me popping his leash, not pulling it.
(The leash should never be taught)
Dog’s like Bear actually crave this type of leadership.
I didn’t get this on video, but there was a kayaker right by the beach when we got there, Bear’s first instinct was to revert to his old ways, but I quickly corrected and redirected him and he instantly relaxed.
Energy transfer is HUGE when handling a fearful dog.
Welcome to bootcamp Cash!
Little Miss June Carter has also come from green to off leash in only 3 weeks!
I couldn’t be more proud of this sweet girl.
Way to go June bug!
Green to off leash in 3 weeks
Here’s another pup that’s gone from green to advanced off leash in only 3 weeks time!
Way to go big Baer!
Green to advanced off leash in only 3 weeks!
I will not hold a dog back from advancing simply to sell an “off leash” package to my clients. If the dog is capable then I will get them there! Though it is not promised in my 3 week foundation bootcamp it is my goal for every dog I train.
