BREEDERS TO BUYERS:
Some etiquette lessons for those who are looking for a puppy from a responsible breeder. This is how you should respect the breeders who work to give you what you are looking for.
Breeding responsibly takes a lot of hard work , money and planning.

1. If you ask to be on their waiting list, then wait. They are lining up what you asked for, doing you a kind service.

2. If you find something that you absolutely love before the breeders puppy is quite ready, HAVE the DECENCY to inform the BREEDER that you have dropped your end of the bargain and got another BEFORE the Breeder notifies you your pup is ready. It is people like this that make breeders want to require high deposit fees just to be able to get one of their puppies.

It is like you ask someone to make you a custom birthday cake and so they prepare it. When the baker is ready to present it to you, you tell them you already bought one at the grocery store. All that time, energy and money is wasted and the baker wonders why they even bothered especially when the person does not even care that they spent time and money for you and you just dismissed them, without even a second thought.

3. If a breeder asks you for a deposit, it is for several reasons...
- to make sure you are serious about getting one of their pups and don't change your mind after and they lose the sale.
- to make sure you (the buyer) don't take a pup without paying for it. (unfortunately it is attempted quite often)
- to protect the breeder and to help cover costs and expenses of the puppy being nurtured.

When a pup is spoken for, breeders do their best to make sure that pup is at its best for you the buyer. It is expensive and time consuming but we love it. What we don't love is when people don’t appreciate the time and energy we put into our puppies, so that we too can have a roof over our head and food on our table.

Bottom line folks, if you are serious about getting a puppy from a reputable breeder, then respect the breeder and the work that they are doing to give you what you asked for.
