Hello Lakewood family! July 4th is around the corner, so it's time for some holiday housekeeping!

- If fireworks make your dog nervous NOW is the time to get their anti-anxiety medication! We will not be able to fill any prescriptions after 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3rd.

- We will not be getting our regularly scheduled food shipment next week due to holiday closures, so if you're getting low on your pet's prescription diet please let us know by 2:00 pm tomorrow so we can order extra and have it by Friday. Our next shipment won't arrive until July 12th, so please plan accordingly.

- And finally in observance of the holiday, we will have limited staff and services available July 1st to July 3rd, and our office will be closed from July 4th to July 7th. We will resume regular office hours on Monday, July 8th.

This little guy was found near Tower Road yesterday, and he was wearing a green reflective collar. He is desperately missing his family, so if you know who this sweetheart belongs to please call the office and we can put you in touch with the Good Samaritan who picked him up!

With only 1 open kennel, we just received word we will be receiving 50 dogs TODAY.

This is an all-hands-on-deck, critical situation and we are in dire need of our community to adopt, foster, or share this post.

🐶🐶🐶Kennels are OPEN today, tomorrow from 10-5, and 1-5 on Sunday and dog adoption fees are just $30 to save a life.

The next few weeks will be more than challenging and we'll be in need of additional foster parents. If you can help, submit your foster application to be on-deck:

Reality, for an animal shelter, can change in an instant. This is one of those moments.

In just a few short hours, we received 66 dogs into a building already housing over 120 dogs with only 5 open kennels, putting us FAR beyond capacity.

In short? WE NEED YOU‼️

Our kennels are OPEN tomorrow, Saturday, & Sunday from 1-5 for walk-throughs, but we'll help anyone between 10-6 that's interested in taking home a pup.
