It feels surreal to be posting this, but after raising my fully unrelated adults from hatchlings for four years (both hand-picked from Rick Tozer back in 2019 after his first year ever breeding Bushmasters), I am incredibly proud to say that I have had the privilege of producing a perfect group of them myself. I never said a word publicly back when I got eggs out of fear of jinxing it and then once they hatched, I decided to still not post anything and hold onto the whole clutch for nearly a year to make sure they were exceptionally well-established. Now with the whole group of eight taking frozen/thawed small adult mice with ease and a holdback pair set aside, I'm ready to let go the rest of the clutch to competent new homes to enjoy them as much as I have.
To my knowledge, these are the only USCBB South American Bushmasters (Lachesis muta) from fully unrelated adults in years. Included are two photos from the day of hatching the end of last July 2024, a photo of the adult female with her eggs, followed by a current photo of one of the available yearlings, and the last photo is to show the impressiveness of the sire that I've raised myself. As you can see, the sire is a very clean and classic patterned L. muta, and the dam was the only aberrant patterned individual from either of their clutches. Please PM me to discuss. You will not be disappointed.
