Pawfest 2024 was a great success!!! And a big shout-out and thank you to those members that participated in the ABTCA Tricks Demonstration. It was a beautiful day and everyone had lots of fun and our pups did a great job representing ABTCA.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day holiday. We wanted to thank Heather Chambers and her new puppy Tobie for allowing us to photograph them to use in the new club header. Tobie did a great job and we look forward to seeing what great things she accomplishes at ABTCA . . . have included a few out takes from our photo experience : )

Kudos to two ABTCA pups Blue and Penrith Garono for their performances in "The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong" at the Quirk Cultural Center. Their skills highlight the talent and versatility of our pups that can be achieved with great instruction and hard work. BTW the play is a comedy/mystery production produced by a former ABTCA member Mary Dente, whose pup Tuxie was one of the first dogs to prove that "yes" a dog can be featured in Community Theatre. In case anyone is interested the play will be performed this weekend Friday/Saturday at 8:00. It is laugh-out-loud fun : )

That’s a wrap for All Breed Dog Training Club of Akron’s participation at the Summit County Fairgrounds 2024 Fair. We ran 18 dog demonstrations this year, from the 4-H Agility and Obedience, Cuyahoga Falls K-9 Units to Meet the Breeds, Therapy Dogs, Agility, Rally, Tricks, Scent Work, Ohio Disc Dogs and more! We also had our 1st Coloring Contest, Parade of Champions and promoted Responsible Dog Ownership for the American Kennel Club! We did all of this while celebrating our 75th Anniversary! THANK YOU to ALL who participated in making this all happen!! Thank you, also, to the Summit County Fairgrounds for supporting us and for all of your help! Here’s to next year!! 🐶🐕🐩

Our Trick Dog demo on Thursday at the Summit County Fair was circus themed and lots of fun for both participants and spectators. Our dogs showed off their skills and had a great time doing it. Thanks to everyone who participated in ABTCA's Therapy Dog Demonstration. A therapy dog is a dog that is trained to provide affection, comfort and support to people, often in settings such as hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, libraries, hospices, or disaster areas. In contrast to assistance dogs, which are trained to assist specific patients with their day-to-day physical needs, therapy dogs are trained to interact with all kinds of people, not just their handlers.
