Sesser Animal Hospital will be closed on Saturday, January 21st through Wednesday, January 25th. They will be back open on Thursday, January 26th. If you are a client and/or know someone who is, please share this. If you need something before then, next week is the time to make phone calls and/or pick up the items you need 😊 it may be inconvenient for some, but the veterinarians and their staff are being rewarded for their hard work with a vacation.

With that being said, I won’t be checking messages much while traveling. I will have my calendar with me and will respond when I can.

I am about 5 days late but I am here to say that I have 2023 open for bookings! If you are new here, I will gladly introduce myself! If I have pet sat for you previously, thank you so much for your kindness and support ♥️ . I hope I can continue to be of service for the future!

•My name is Jerika Newton and I am an animal lover! I am a Certified Vet Tech by day and a Pet Sitter by night 😁 . I am originally from West Frankfort, but moved to Tamaroa in 2021.

•I have cared for critters as small as rabbits to as large as farm animals such as a pot bellied pig, goats and horses! I’m capable of medicating / giving injections, if needed.

•I would stay in your home while you are away—I do not board at this time. I feel that some pets are less stressed and more comfortable staying in their homes compared to boarding somewhere—same environment and routine, just someone else caring for them 😊 . I am a strong believer of a meet & greet with you and your pet(s) before you leave on a trip.

•I have lots of references ranging from non-profit organizations, previous and current coworkers / clients, as well as, friends and family. My prices depend on the type of pet(s) you have, how many you have, and where you are located.

How is everyone’s tree holding up so far? Does anyone have any holiday photos to share?

I have 2 dachshunds and 3 indoor kitties, in which my dogs leave the tree and presents alone. But the cats, specifically the youngest, is constantly in the tree 😂 all you can do is laugh! I’ll comment a picture of the little bo**er

Friendly reminder to give your pet(s) their monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventions!

If you have a hard time getting them to take it, please talk to your veterinarian either in person or phone call. There’s also an injectable-type heartworm prevention available at certain clinics 😁

Chocolate toxicity is one of the most commonly treated toxicities in dogs, particularly during the holiday seasons. This chart spells out which types of chocolate are the most toxic.

Sharing this as it can be used at just about any clinic. You can earn points with every eligible product purchased as long as a receipt is submitted within 60 days. When you reach 100 points, they can be redeemed for a rewards card. That card can then be used to help pay for any product or service at the vet.

Some of said products can be Simparica Trio (oral prevention), ProHeart 12 (injectable Heartworm prevention), Apoquel (oral allergy medication), Cytopoint (allergy injection), Convenia (injectable antibiotic), Carprofen (oral pain/anti-inflammatory), and Cerenia (both oral and injectable anti-vomiting medication).

If you get Carprofen refilled, or had purchased any of those items within the last 60 days, this may be worth looking into 😊
