Hey there! Are you looking for tips to prevent Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses in your furry friend? I've got you covered!

First things first, make sure to inspect both yourself and your dog for ticks on a daily basis, especially after walks through wooded or grassy areas. Check for ticks in areas such as your dog's feet (including between toes), lips, around eyes, ears (including inside ears), near the a**s, and under the tail.

If you find any ticks, make sure to get them removed immediately and consult with a veterinarian. The quicker you find them, the less likely your dog will contract a secondary illness related to tick bites. Speaking of which, it's a good idea to ask your veterinarian to conduct a tick check at each exam to ensure that you haven't missed any.

To prevent ticks from jumping onto your dog, use a veterinary-approved flea and tick treatment. Your veterinarian can help you find the most appropriate product for your dog. Keeping grass trimmed as short as possible and avoiding walking in grassy areas where ticks are common can also help.

Consider getting your dog vaccinated against Lyme disease. It's always best to speak with your vet to determine if vaccination is appropriate for your dog. Remember, prevention is key!
