HAPPY TAILS 🫶 Lacy has been ADOPTED! Her new parents said,

"We've adopted older dogs for a while now, usually around Lacy's age, and we made sure to give them the best life possible. One of the dogs I'd adopted had never seen snow before, and we took him everywhere with us, so he saw plenty of it. We're kinda snowbirds, so we spend the summers in Michigan, where Lacy will live out her wildest dreams on a boat and playing in the lake. When we met in the adoption counselor's office, we immediately fell in love with Lacy's personality and her love for treats. She's very smart, she knows to sit when we get a treat in our hands and waits patiently until we tell her to take it. We don't care about the heartworm, we are thankful that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and the Animal Care Hospital are helping us and her too, the adoption process was amazing and we feel very prepared for what comes next. We're gonna make sure Lacy tests negative here in a few months, we're ready to take her to the lakes and beaches, go for long walks everywhere, and just see her personality blossom." 🎊🎊

TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 23RD 🐾 Stop into the Petco on Westshore from 9am-12p where we will join our friends at Petco for an in-store adoption day. We will be collecting items for our Pet Pantry, a service where we provide free food and pet supplies to local pet owners in need of support. LOVEBIRD NEEDS YOU 🐦 Charlie was rescued from a terrible neglect case and has been at HSTB, healing and getting the attention she* deserves! Now, she is looking for her forever home. Charlie loves toys, millet, and the sunshine.

We are looking for an adopter who has experience with lovebirds and already has a lovebird looking for a friend, we want her to go home to another! Charlie's adoption will come with a cage and supplies. If you are someone with experience and another lovie who is looking for a friend, come and meet Charlie!

Adopt Lacy!

When we asked Lacy, who has been available at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for 150 days, who wanted to be adopted, she raised her paw as high as she could.

Her family surrendered to the shelter back in May due to a family emergency.

She doesn't show well in her kennel, but as soon as we took her out for a Second Shot, her personality shined!

HSTB ALUMNI - Bestie and Birthday Edition 😻 Adopter Leeland has adopted two animals from HSTB their story touched our hearts! She writes:
"I have adopted two animals from yall in the past. They have been the greatest companions of my life. One was a basset hound named Sadie Max, and she was the best friend I’d ever had. She passed last year at 14 years old and got to go all across America (she got to p*e on the Grand Canyon, a great accomplishment for a dog). But she is not who I am writing about today.
The first animal I adopted from you is a white and black cat who was 12 years old on that day and is about to celebrate his 8th year with me. He has been across the state with me, I’ve taken him camping, he’s comforted me when I cried, he’s like my grandfather in a way. He’s always been my grumpy old man and is still going strong! Basically, what I’m saying is Monday is Wilson’s 20th birthday!
I am forever grateful for your organization and the animals I have been blessed to rescue from you! I also wanted to share this senior adoption story to show that it’s definitely worth it to take home an older man or lady because with the right amount of love, they can be your best friends for many years!"

🌟 Huge shoutout to the Ryan Nece Foundation for being such incredible partners and allowing us to be part of their Power of ThanksGiving event in both Hillsborough County and Pinellas! We connected with more than 125 families and gave away almost 6,000 pounds of dog and cat food to those in need. 🐾❤️ Together, we’re making a difference for both people and their beloved pets. Thank you for helping us spread joy and support in our community this holiday season!

💔 Meet Cleo 💔 A resilient pup who has been through so much. Her previous family loved her deeply and did everything they could to care for her, but after facing unimaginable hardships, they had to make the difficult decision to surrender her so she could get the help she needed.

While Cleo may be underweight and her ribs are visible, her spirit is anything but broken. This sweet girl radiates happiness and love, showing us all what true resilience looks like. She’s now on the mend here getting the nourishment and medical care she deserves. Soon, she’ll be ready to find her forever family – one that will help her continue to thrive and show her the love she’s always known.
