Winston is going through a little bit of a fear period so before we did anything in the bath or on the table we did a fun puzzle for his breakfast! This smart cookie figured it out in seconds!!
Quite often I get told that a pet parents pup doesn't tolerate something or is fearful and I take it into account but don't base my groom off it because alot of the time the dog is just over stimulated in the busy and high stress environment that is a shop. Whether corporate or a mom and pop shop, unless you're taking clients one on one there will always be stressors. There's a reason I allow dogs to decompress and give frequent breaks. I don't want unnecessary stress on your pups. Sometimes it's as simple as the energy that's transferred through tools. Alot of groomers overbook themselves or get aggravated easily, that will seep right down and into the dog you're working on. If you're not calm and confident in what's you're doing, THEY KNOW. This pup was labeled as a spicy bean for nails but after calmly feeling him over and assessing where his comfort level was I could tell it was probably due to over stimulation. We kept things calm. Worked in comfortable positions and confidently got them done. There's no stress signals and there's no fear. I love each of my clients dogs and I pride myself on building a healthy and loving relationship with each pup.
Pet Pampering means more than just dogs and cats. This bun was found wandering a community and was severely matted in a few different places on his backend. We did a short session today to get the bulk so he feels a bit better and later this week I'll work on the small finer matting. He was the sweetest boy and fell asleep in my hands multiple times. ❤️
This SWEET baby boy is Oliver. Mom was told he can be fearful for the dryer but I'm pretty sure he was fearful of who was handling the dryer not the dryer itself. Oliver was the perfect client today. I forgot finished pictures of course but here's a cute video of how he handled the dryer with me.
Bourbon is a doodle puppy that comes to me every 3 weeks. He's such a fun dog to groom. He's picking up how to act on the table slowly but this was his very first interaction with grooming so we made it super fun and relaxing.
Yoshi began coming to me in a muzzle and now he just leans into me. He's got the heart of an elephant in that little body.
