—Lightning can strike MILES away, if you hear thunder’s roar, stay indoors! (dog houses are NOT safe).
—Ensure your pets always have ID tags.
—Keep extra pet medications, food, towels, and essential supplies.
—Have back up plans with places that will accommodate your pet (keep copies of vaccine and important records).

Pet tips for hurricane preparedness:

1. Plan NOW and find pet friendly shelters.
2. Ensure you have tags on all your pets!
3. Have a minimum of a 3 day supply of non-perishable food & extra supplies.
4. Stay calm...your pets look to you for guidance, take sensible action but remember worrying itself doesn't help you or your pets.
