🚨 Dagmar Alert! 🚨

Meet Dagmar, the 1.5-year-old cutie who went from a shy stray to a treat-loving, tennis ball-chasing, belly-rub-obsessed good boy! 🐾💙

🐶 What’s Dagmar like?
✔️ Leash pro! – Walks well, just needs reminders sometimes 🚶‍♂️
✔️ Playful pup! – Loves tennis balls, rolling on his back, and showing off his zoomies 🎾
✔️ Treat fiend! – A little too excited about snacks (so we toss them instead 😉)
✔️ Loves love! – Big fan of pets, kisses, and attention 🥰

Since arriving in mid-October, Dagmar has been coming out of his shell every day. He’s still learning the ropes of home life in foster, but his sweet, snuggly personality is shining through! He’s got SO much love to give, and now he just needs the right person to give it to!

Looking for a pup with endless energy, a heart full of love, and a little bit of adorable mischief? Say hello to Portobello, a 2-year-old black lab mix who is equal parts zoomies, tug-of-war champion, and professional cuddle monster! If you meet him in person and notice an oddity, we believe he most likely had a previous injury to his left front leg which caused his shoulder to be out of place. Out vets have determined it is not painful for him, and he uses it to get around mostly normal.

🐾 MEET JENKINS – A GENTLE AND SWEET COMPANION! 🐾

Jenkins is a 3-year-old who arrived at the PRC in late August as a stray. This sweet boy is gentle, dainty, and loves spending time with his favorite humans. Jenkins is very social but has a selective play style in playgroups – he prefers the company of females and enjoys quiet, affectionate moments with them. Jenkins is easy to leash and walk, with a calm and relaxed demeanor. He’s a great companion on walks and loves to explore the yard with a happy, wiggly body. Jenkins is well-mannered, walks back to his kennel calmly, and loves receiving pets from anyone who’s around. He’s a bit shy at first but opens up when he’s given the chance to connect.

Jenkins has met families with children and has been polite and friendly, though he is a bit more focused on sniffing around and exploring than interacting with kids. He can get excited and may jump up on people out of enthusiasm, but he listens well and knows how to sit and take treats gently. Max is a laid-back, 7-year-old terrier mix who’s ready to bring his calm and cozy vibes to your home! This sweet boy came to PRC in late September after his family had landlord troubles, but he’s keeping his spirits high and his tail wagging.

Helga, a 2-year-old superstar who's proof that a little wobble can’t stop a whole lot of love! Helga came to PRC in mid-August 2024 with perforated eardrums, which makes her balance a little quirky. But don’t let that fool you—this girl is all about fun, play, and cuddles!

Helga Highlights:
💧 Water Baby: Helga LOVES the splash pad! She runs right in, toy in tow, ready to show off her unique style of play.
🎾 Toy Enthusiast: Balls, squeaky toys, you name it—Helga’s got her eyes on the prize. Fetch? She’s working on the “return” part, but who cares when she’s this adorable?
🐾 Balance Champ: Helga doesn’t let her wobbles slow her down. She gets right back up after a tumble like the resilient queen she is.

Meet our Friday Foster Feature...Queso!🧀

This adorable senior pup, Queso, is a heart-stealer who’s been through a lot but still has so much love to give. 🐾

Queso first captured hearts at the shelter last year, and he was lucky enough to be adopted into a loving family. Unfortunately, due to his owner’s illness, Queso has had to return to the shelter. But that doesn’t stop him from being the happiest boy around! 🏡💕

🐾 Why Queso’s Amazing:
Well-Behaved & Chill: He’s an easy-going boy who is potty trained and walks perfectly on a leash.

Dog-Friendly: Queso gets along well with other dogs and loves meeting new friends—especially those with a similar chill vibe! 🐶

Totally Sweet: He LOVES belly rubs, cuddling on the couch, and following you around the house for all the attention. He’s a total love bug! 🐾❤️

Medical Needs: Queso has an enlarged heart and murmur, but that doesn’t slow him down. He’s on medication to help, and he’s still one of the happiest pups around! 🧡

Tail Waggin’ Tuesday: Self-supported Rehoming! 🏡

Let's talk about Bruno! 🥰 Bruno is a lean young 3-year-old dog who, sadly, is very tired of the shelter life after being surrendered by his lifelong family in early April due to being too rambunctious when playing. It can take him a few days to feel secure and start being more himself in a home, so patience is needed with this young boy. Since being in foster, he has now opened up to be a playful, personable dog who once again enjoys fetch and chasing toys, splashing in the water and has never met a treat he didn’t like! He now focuses well during training, learning more each day and has become gentle taking treats. He is housetrained, loves car rides, and going to the beach, per his previous owners. While at PRC, Bruno went to playgroup and had a gentle/dainty style of play. He was tolerant and playful with other dogs, while preferring to play in smaller groups. He is unknown around cats and would do best with older children in the home. His foster says the cutest thing of all is how he has started to vocalize by singing! Fostering doesn't have to be a long commitment with our Adventure Tails program you can take a PRC pup out on a day trip. From taking a long walk in our of our county parks to swinging by your favorite coffee shop for a pup cup- these day trips have lasting positive impacts. Want to take a pup out on an Adventure Tail? Remember when you helped clear an entire kennel at PRC? We need your help again. Currently, PRC is at over 150% capacity and has ZERO empty kennels. How can you help? 1️⃣If you or someone you know is interested in adopting, you can visit the Pet Resource Center Monday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to find your new furry family member. You can also access the PRC online kennel 24/7. You can even set up a meet and greet with your potential new friend with dogs you may have at home! 2️⃣. Consider fostering a pet. You can foster a pet for a weekend, a week, or a few weeks. Its up to you! No matter how long you foster, the time spent with foster pet is nothing but beneficial! 3️⃣. Take a dog out on an Adventure Tail! If you can’t take in a foster pet, you can always take a dog out for a day trip with PRC’s Adventure Tail Program! 70 Dogs Returned to PRC!

Paws-itive news for you: We brought back about 70 dogs to PRC today and adoption fees are still waived! 🥳🐶 Our intake remains suspended for owner surrender and stray dogs until every dog has returned to ensure we have kennels available. Animal Control is still assisting with sick and injured animals. Interested in adopting? Come see us Monday - Saturday from 10a.m. - 5p.m. to help these pets find a home! 🧡
