🎃👻 Halloween Pet Safety Tips 👻🎃
Spooky season is here — but let’s keep the scares fun, not dangerous! Here are some important tips to keep your furry friends safe this Halloween:
🐾 Keep candy out of reach
Chocolate, xylitol (in sugar-free treats), and other sweets are toxic to pets. Make sure the treat bowl stays out of paws’ reach!
🚪 Watch the door
With trick-or-treaters coming and going, pets can slip out unnoticed. Keep your pet in a quiet, secure room during peak hours.
🦴 Costumes: Cute but careful
Only dress up your pet if they’re comfortable with it! Avoid costumes that limit movement, breathing, or vision. Always supervise your pet while they’re dressed up.
🎆 Be mindful of decorations
Glowing jack-o’-lanterns, cords, fake cobwebs, and small decorations can be dangerous if chewed on or swallowed.
🔈 Reduce stress
The doorbell, costumes, and noise can be scary for pets. Create a calm, cozy space where they can relax.
🐶🐱 ID & microchips matter
If your pet does get loose, proper ID tags and an up-to-date microchip can help them get home safely.
