Rocco wasn’t feeling his best after suddenly experiencing vomiting and diarrhea while playing in his backyard. After a thorough exam by our doctor, we performed X-rays and ran bloodwork to rule out anything serious. Thankfully, we were able to put together a tailored treatment plan to help Rocco get back to his happy, playful self! 🐾💙

This sweet girl came in with an a**l gland abscess, but our care team was ready to help her feel better. After some TLC and treatment, Lani went home with a customized care plan to support her recovery. 💕

Did you know? Dogs’ a**l glands naturally release fluid to help mark territory. Sometimes, they can become impacted or infected, leading to discomfort or abscesses. Regular a**l gland expression, either naturally or by a professional, can help prevent these issues. If you notice your dog scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort, it might be time to have their a**l glands checked by your vet.

Say hello to Birdie! 🐾 This sweet girl came in with an inflamed and itchy paw that had been bothering her. After a thorough exam, we tailored a treatment plan to help her find relief and get back to feeling her best! 💙

Pets can develop allergies to environmental factors like pollen, grass, and dust mites, as well as food or even certain cleaning products. Little Russell had quite the adventure after getting into something he shouldn’t have! Thankfully, with the quick response of our care team, we were able to safely induce vomiting in a monitored environment to ensure he was out of harm’s way. 🐾

Say hello to Bailey 🐾

This sweet baby came to see us after her family noticed signs of an upset stomach. Knowing Bailey’s curious habits of eating things she shouldn’t, they were concerned about a possible obstruction. To ensure her safety, we hospitalized her for the day, provided IV fluids, and performed periodic X-rays to monitor her condition.

Thankfully, by the end of the day, we were able to rule out a foreign object obstruction! Bailey went home with a treatment plan to help her feel better, and we’re so glad she’s on the road to recovery. 💕

If you suspect your pet may have swallowed something they shouldn’t, it’s important to have them seen right away. Common signs of a potential obstruction include vomiting, lack of appetite, lethargy, or difficulty passing stool. The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!

This adventurous kitty ran out of the house and came back with a fish hook stuck in his paw. His owner rushed him to UrgentVet, where we carefully removed the hook and made sure he was comfortable.
