This is the whole package right here. PeeWee is the kindest and nicest soul to be around. He has good legs, feet, no vices, easy keeper and a “savor the flavor” type of guy (especially with bananas). Retiring from racing sound, well looked after and very much loved, he is a special horse and would make a great RRP prospect. Lovely mover with a pretty natural frame - judges will love him in the hunter ring or for dressage. He is going to have a fantastic jump with a great front end. 4-H/Pony Club prospect

If you are looking for big, kind, easy going, molasses type mover, Fancy is the mare for you. She is in no hurry to go any where, in fact, we only have jog video going away from the track, going towards it? She was only inclined to walk. Very nosey, she really is into everyone’s business. She is very sweet, loves attention and licking people. Easy keeper, she is a tank. Uncomplicated and straightforward to handle and ride. This is a Pony Club/4H type prospect. No injuries, no vices, sound. Has some superficial scrapes at time of pictures.

Ughhhh nothing like a striking liver chestnut with chrome but not a speck of white on the face, *sigh* sooooooooo cute!!! Once he fills out, striking! Retiring sound, clean legs, no vices. This guy is great to handle and ride. Clean legs. He does have white feet and is one I’d recommend keeping at least fronts on. Suitable for anything, big mover for a smaller package.

Now’s the time to find your quality TB hunter

A new $25,000 Thoroughbred Hunter Derby will make its debut at the Upperville C**t & Horse Show in June, replacing the recent Upperville Thoroughbred Hunter Classic. The derby will take place Tuesday afternoon, in the Parker Ring beneath Upperville’s iconic oaks. A post-class reception will be held in the Friends of Upperville tent adjacent to the grandstand.

The new derby reflects a growing, industry-wide effort to expand opportunities for Thoroughbreds at recognized horse shows. In recent years, trainers, owners, and Thoroughbred advocates have worked to elevate the visibility and competitiveness of Thoroughbreds in hunter and jumper sport.

TAKE2, founded by the late Bruce Duchossois and Rick Violette Jr. of the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc., has been at the forefront of that movement. The program partners with USEF-rated horse shows to offer hunter and jumper divisions restricted to Thoroughbreds eligible for registration with The Jockey Club. More recently, Carrie Brogden—a Thoroughbred enthusiast active in the racing industry—told Camden, South Carolina-based trainer Ron Danta that the racing industry was interested in promoting the idea of a Thoroughbred-only derby series offering significant prize money.
