This class will focus on teaching AKC rally signs. Students will learn how to properly read the signs and break them down into skills for their dog. This class focuses on teaching novice signs though will go into how these signs evolve throughout the higher levels.

Starting a class at the Dog Training Club of Tampa? I'm Leia, your guide! After my chauffeur drops me off, we head to the potty area and enter through the ramp. Rings 1 and 2 host obedience, rally, conformation, tricks, and more, while Ring 3 is for agility. Stay attentive, avoid distractions and nose-to-nose encounters, and use crates when not training. Proper training ensures safety. Enjoy your class!

𝗛𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝘀! Did you miss our last 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁 session? Tell your owners to scurry on over and register for our next 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁 scheduled for 6:30pm, Saturday August 10th!
Meet the Rat is a perfect opportunity to test your dog's drive and interest in Barn Hunt. Dogs will be allowed to meet the rat in carefully controlled conditions.
Hay will be available for your dog to see, smell and touch. This is to encourage them to become familiar with a new surface.
The first introduction will be in a wire cage so your dog can see movement and smell the rat. The second introduction will be made using a clear tube, so your dog can still see the rat. The third will be an actual Barn Hunt tube, where they can no longer see the rat, and must focus on smell and sound.

> Sessions 2 and 3 will have a strong focus on rules, how trials are run, and how to sign up. In session 2, dog and handler teams will complete an Instinct level course. In session 3, teams will complete a Novice level course, including a tunnel and climb.

At the end of this multi-session class, your dog should be prepared to enter a trial at the Instinct level and possibly novice.

Flyball... Agility... Barn Hunt... Disc Dog... Obedience... Rally...
Want to build a solid foundation (or need a refresher course) that will benefit you and your dog in any sport you choose?

Dog Sport Foundations helps teach all-around skills that can be applied in all dog sports. The course focuses on the dog/human relationship and on the dog’s awareness of where all their body parts are and how they move and work. In addition, we include some practice of unique skills that will help dogs and handlers have less stressful, more successful trial experiences.

Prerequisite: Completion of Puppy Manners OR Basic Obedience class OR instructor approval

Congratulations to DTCT DACOF Team Lightning!

Update from Cindy Little:

Master/Exc. Team: Lauren Gomez and Dancer, Lauren Beaudoin and Pocket, Rita Stille and Bindi and myself Cindy Little and Tonka.

Open Team: Carolann Mullins and Morgan, Lauren Gomez and Moxie, and Lauren Beaudoin And Maggie.

Novice Team: Gary Makas and Milie, Robin Butto and Dash, and Carolann and Biscuit.

We even had a Buddy team with Rita and Ellie.

Our team placed 16 out of 43 Teams.

Congratulations go to Lauren Gomez and Dancer for earning 3 trophies, a 2nd place and two 3rd places.

We had the Best decorations in my opinion even if we didn't win the award.

A great, fun time was had by all and we had super team spirit. Everyone contributed and made a real effort from Carolann s decorations to Lauren's cute lost puppies, Lauren G. made dog collars, Robin made crate tags and got us matching socks, Gary was our Star worker, and I made our team shirts.

Thank you Bonnie for putting together our beautiful tean baskets, and Rita managed to stuff them in her car to bring them to the event.

We were all decked out in Patriotic Theme, even down to crate covers.

Everyone had a blast! I owe a million thanks to our team for all their work, but especially for the support and effort towards making our weekend the best ever. Thanks to Carolann, we had our own team awards too.
