Happy Thanksgiving from the Dog Training Club of Tampa!

Today, we’re reflecting on 65 years of memories, accomplishments, and the incredible bond shared between our members, volunteers, and their dogs.

We are deeply thankful for everyone who has contributed to our journey—teaching classes, organizing events, volunteering behind the scenes, and supporting our mission. DTCT has always been about more than training; it’s about building a community of dog lovers who learn, grow, and celebrate together.

As we gather with loved ones today, we’re reminded of the experiences that have shaped our club and the dedication that has kept it going. If you’re looking for something fun after the holiday, join us this weekend for the TDAA Agility Trials (Nov 29 - Dec 1) and celebrate the joy of agility with teacup-sized dogs!

🎉 Celebrating 65 Years of the Dog Training Club of Tampa! 🎉

For 65 years, the Dog Training Club of Tampa has been a cornerstone of our local community, bringing together dog lovers, trainers, and volunteers to create strong bonds between dogs and their owners. Whether you're here for agility, obedience, or simply the love of dogs, we’ve made a lasting impact on the lives of many. 🐾

Over the years, we’ve overcome many challenges, including the impacts of COVID-19 and major facility issues like the failure of our A/C units during some of the hottest months. This year, we’ve faced additional setbacks due to Hurricane Helene and Milton, which resulted in significant losses from building closures and disruptions to our AKC Agility and TDAA trials. Despite these ongoing obstacles, our commitment to serving the community remains unwavering.

As a volunteer-run 501c4 organization, every contribution goes directly into maintaining our facility, supporting our programs, and ensuring we can continue offering high-quality training and events for dogs and their families.

As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to be part of our continued success. Whether you’re local or from outside the area, and whether you can make a small donation or a larger one, your support makes a difference. Donations will help us recover, grow, and stay strong for another 65 years. 💙

DTCT INDOOR HIKE CANCELED
Due to cleanup still ongoing for part of the building after Hurricane Milton, we’ve tentatively rescheduled the hike for November 17th.

In the meantime, join us for Canine Fitness – Level 1 starting October 21st at 7:30 PM.
🐾 Let’s keep our dogs active while we wait for the new date! 🏋️‍♂️💪

🐾 Almost There—Help Us Finish the Cleanup! 🐾

A big thank you to everyone who came out to help! We’ve made great progress—Ring 1 and 2 are almost ready, with just the fencing left, and we’re still working on getting Ring 3 back together.

Join us Tuesday, October 15th for a cleanup session starting at 12:00 PM.
We’ll continue putting mats back, deep cleaning, and restoring the building.

We understand gas shortages and power outages are still challenging for some, so please come only if it’s safe for you. Every bit of help is appreciated!

- Tuesday, October 15th: All classes are canceled so we can finish setting up Ring 1 and 2, along with tasks around the lobby, entrance, and exit areas.

- Wednesday, October 16th, and Thursday, October 17th: Classes will be held, pending instructor availability. Instructors will reach out if any classes are canceled, and we’ll post updates tomorrow evening.

- Ring 3: All Ring 3 classes (mainly agility) are canceled for the week as we continue restoring the area.

We’ve been focused on getting the building back up and running, so if you haven’t heard back from us yet, please know we’re trying to catch up on admin emails and phone calls over the next few days. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

🐾 Join Us in Continuing to Restore the Club! 🐾

A big thank you to everyone who came out to help today! We’ve made great progress—ring one is getting there but still needs some work, and we need to finish putting the mats back in the other rings.

Join us Sunday, October 13th, starting at 2:00 PM as we continue putting mats back, deep cleaning, and working to restore the rest of the building.

We’ll also continue the efforts on Monday, October 14th, with cleanup sessions starting at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

We understand the gas situation may be challenging for some, so please only come if it’s safe for you and without stretching your resources. Every bit of help is appreciated, and we value everyone’s effort!

Announcement: All classes are cancelled on Monday, October 14th. Further updates regarding the rest of the week will be provided soon.

Together, we can restore the club and continue serving our community! 🐾💪
