❤️Hamlin has found a foster home, we will keep everyone posted!❤️
💔We have shared this amazing boy so often, with no interest, we are at a loss on how to keep HAMLIN from losing hope!💔

💔 If you could see his face, these sweet, golden eyes, when we have to bring him back to boarding, again, and again, it’s torture! We remain strong until they take him from us, back to his kennel but we fall apart! 😞😞 Yes, PawLife Rescue Group saved his life but we are trying to mend his heart, to give him a life he truly deserves!❤️🙏

💔Since day one, life has not been fair to him! Found tied to a pole, longest resident at a rural shelter, destined to be euthanized, saved at the last moment!😩 That was way back last summer, he was loved at a few temp fosters and even adopted, but true to his terrible luck, he lost his forever home because of a hurricane!!!😞😞😞

💔 No one else would give him a chance, and we begged, so he sits in boarding, month after month! Please, we have nearly 18k followers, one share could change his life! Just one button!!🙏.

❤️🙏This is the irony, he is a magnificent dog! Hamlin is great with people and kids. He honestly thinks his 70lbs is meant for your lap😀❤️ No, he doesn’t do well with other dogs and not sure about cats but there is a home out there for him!❤️
He is all this and more because we can’t put how much he loves into words, you have to feel that yourself: ❤️
✅House trained
✅Excellent car passenger
✅Non destructive
✅Happy with a short walk
✅Polite, does not beg

❤️Please, those of us who love him and advocating for him can’t do this alone! If you can offer Hamlin the home he has been longing for, please complete an application to meet him. If you can’t, share him with everyone!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

2-24-25 JETHRO WAS ADOPTED TODAY!!!

FINAL DEADLINE 2-26-25 @ 5PM

Jethro A2107799 is in need of ASSISTANCE. He came in originally in 2020 and was adopted, fka Astro. He is now back as an OWNER SURRENDER.

Email [email protected] cc [email protected]

PLEA FOR ASSISTANCE

JETHRO is a 5 uear old Staffie weighing 77lbs. His journey with PRC began back in 2020 when he was found as a stray and later adopted. Unfortunately, he’s back with us now as an owner surrender after an accident left his family unable to care for him. While Jethro is reactive in the kennel and displaying signs of (FAS)—such as, lunging, barking, lowered body position, and a tucked tail—he does much better outside of his kennel. When meeting new people, he may show stiff body language at first, but with time, he warms up and shows his true, affectionate self. Because of his kennel stress and reactivity, we’re hoping to connect with a rescue that can provide him with the space and care he needs to decompress outside of the shelter environment. Jethro deserves a fresh start, and we know he’ll shine in the right setting.

Per Notes

Per volunteer: Jethro was avoidant; so I stepped into his kennel and offered a treat. He came up, took the treat and a pet; then exited easily. He walked well and ignored dogs going to the play yard. He slowly explored the yard, showing no interest in toys. He sat well in training and was gentle with treats, preferring them in small pieces. He enjoyed getting pets all over, including from two other volunteers who entered the yard to spend time with him. He particularly enjoyed b***y particularly enjoyed b***y scratches, going into a sploot and having a relaxed expression. When petting stopped, he would go to another person and solicit attention. We later went to the garden; where he quietly explored and received more pets. He walked well through the lot and was easy to return to his kennel, receiving a few pets and a treat before closing the door.

FINAL DEADLINE 2-26-25 @ 5PM

DUNLOP A2334597 is READY TO GO !!! He has been at the shelter for 3 months with no interest. He is now AT RISK.

EMAIL [email protected] cc [email protected]

Plea from Shelter

Meet Dunlop, a 3-year-old neutered male who came to us as a stray back in early November, and he’s been waiting for his second chance! At around 56lbs and heartworm negative, he’s a healthy guy who is in urgent need of a foster home! Unfortunately, being in the shelter for so long has started to take a toll on him. He’s become more reactive in his kennel, especially when other animals walk by, and has been engaging in some repetitive behaviors, like jumping on the walls. He is more selective with other dogs during playgroup. We’re reaching out because we know Dunlop would benefit from a break away from the stressful shelter environment. Please consider helping this boy!

Per Notes

02/14/25 13:41 Dunlop was frantically jumping at the kennel door so he was held still using a treat through the door for leashing. He walked with a very heavy pull, spun around, flailed a few times, and kept standing on his back legs from pulling so hard. In the yard, Dunlop was loose, he sat when asked, took treats gently, solicited attention, and played with toys. Dunlop was returned with a harness wrap and walked with a mild pull. He was easily unleashed. -CR

2/1/25 Per volunteer: Dunlop was jumping around and barking a bit when I went to leash him. Once I gave him a large treat, I was able to leash him easily. He came out of his kennel pretty strongly and pulled strongly along the way to the yard. He had a lot of energy so we went to the garden and Dunlop ran around quite a bit. He came when called and would "sit" when asked. He is a very gentle treat taker. He enjoyed lots of pets from head to tail. Back in the yard, he played in the pool. When he saw a dog in a neighboring yard, he began running the fence and hopping about. He pulled strongly on the return to his kennel, but was easy to unleash.

If you are available, please let us know as soon as possible! Thank you for your time!

Delta is a 6-year-old pitty mix who has spent the last 160 days at PRC, waiting for the perfect family to call her own.

She came in as a CONFISCATION when her owner died. She has been spayed, up to date with vaccines and heartworm negative.

Despite her time at the shelter, Delta remains an incredibly friendly and affectionate dog, eager to shower her humans with love and loyalty. She’s easy to leash, and her sweet demeanor makes her a joy to walk and spend time with. Due to her length of stay she is AT RISK. The shelter would love a RESCUE or ADOPTER to step up!!!

Per Notes

Delta has been social with people and dogs while at the shelter. She is treat motivated, walks well on leash, and plays with toys. .

02/12/25 17:41 Delta had a wagging tail and was pushy to get out of the kennel. Once in the yard she explored and sniffed around. Delta allowed petting but did not solicit pets directly. Delta mainly kept to herself throughout the interaction. CF

02/11/25 13:52 Per volunteer: Delta put her head down to be easily leashed. She played with a soft squeaky toy, throwing it in the air and running after it. She knows "sit" and "down". Delta allowed petting and got in the pull. She was easy to walk back.

ADVENTURE TAILS NOTE

01/07/25 13:30 Foster Adventure Tail: Delta was an absolute sweetheart! She adores attention and will happily come up to you for hugs, cuddles, and even try to climb into your lap—she truly believes she’s a lap dog! We started our day with some trail walks at a few local parks, and Delta loved every minute of exploring. She did great on her leash, starting with a medium pull, then settled into a relaxed pace. She passed a few other dogs along the way without any issues and seemed perfectly content. After her walk, we headed for a bath, where she got so many compliments on her adorable blocky head and sweet demeanor. She even had a polite, friendly interaction with another dog leaving the wash station. Delta was well-behaved during her bath and enjoyed walking through the aisles afterward, taking everything in like a pro. To cap off the day, we stopped for a pup cup. Delta rode beautifully in the car, falling asleep whenever we were moving and loved looking out the window. She was the perfect passenger! Delta truly has a loving, well-mannered personality, and she will be a great addition to a loving home! 01/07/25 13:34 Upon return, Delta showed curiousity toward a kitten inside a carrier and pulled to sniff the gate, but did not show negative behavior toward the carrier. mw

DID YOU KNOW? SAGO PALMS CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR PET.

Found throughout Southwest Florida, the Sago Palm (also known as Cardboard Palms, Coontie Palms, Japanese Cycad and/or Zymias) is an attractive landscaping accent.

Unfortunately, all parts of the plant are toxic to both cats and dogs…especially the seeds. The palm contains Cycasin, a carcinogenic and neurotoxic glucoside, and their taste may attract your pet(s).

Ingestion of plant parts and/or seeds results in symptoms ranging from excessive drooling to diarrhea to vomiting. Other symptoms may include weakness, seizures and tremors. Severe liver failure often follows, as does death.

Sadly, even when treated aggressively by your veterinarian, the survival rate is only about 50%.
