November 30, 2011. A day that has changed my life. From a direction-less, unsatisfied-with-how-my-life-was-going employee to the owner and operator of a small business, I will forever be grateful to all of the people who have supported me and my endeavor to have a safe and happy place for dogs to be groomed and boarded. Mmmm apple cider and spices are in the crock pot and heating up for Trick or Treating tonight! I’ll be at the end of my driveway with candy and the cider if anyone would like to stop by! There is even a variety of extra additions for the adults if they would like their cider to have some razzle dazzle 😉😉

Let’s talk about brushing!

It is super duper important that one brushes their dog with the appropriate tools. If you have a lab or other short-haired breed, you can get away with just a slicker brush or Furminator. Long-haired breeds, like this Doodle, require more detailed and frequent brushing.

As you can see from the first 2 pictures, the hair looks great! It’s nice and long and looks like it’s been brushed recently. Unfortunately that brushing most likely didn’t get all of the way down to the skin because what looked good on top was a gigantic mess underneath 😬 There was just no saving it 😔 No shame though, it happens to all of us! Slicker brushes are great for getting out small knots and those pesky loose “puffs” but a metal comb is needed to make sure that one gets alllll of the way down to the skin.

Short, daily, grooming sessions at home can be a great bonding experience for you and your dog! During a commercial break in your TV show, take out those tools and give them a quick brush out!

If you ever have any questions about how you can keep your pup looking spiffy between groomings please don’t hesitate to ask your groomer to help you with tool selection and tips/tricks!

I’m going on vacaaaaaation! 🥳
I’ll be gone from Sunday August 13th until the morning of Monday August 28th. It’s my annual family vacation to St John USVI!

While I’m gone Chelsea is in charge as usual ☺️♥️ Because she also works another job our hours will be limited to every day 9am-12pm but STILL CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS. If you need a later pick up/drop off that is something that you will need to coordinate with Chelsea at her availability.
