I can’t wait for this finished project it’s going to look so good!!

That is the new boy goat barn. We are redoing the pens completly with this new barn and dividing the pens into long skinny sections instead of the grey shelters and square paddocks they have now. These barn will be so much better for blocking that winter weather but also creating perfect shade in the summer!

We went with 4’x16’ 4x4” utility panels for our fencing since the male goats are so tough on the fence especially the fence line between the pens so this will just be a sure way for the fence to stay super sturdy and strong and no baby goats can fit through! Lol.

Eventually as the nicer weather comes we will stain the barn, add the sliding windows and finish the inside of the stalls but right now we just want to get it done enough to get those guys in there!

Made some good progress today on the new pasture border fence and working on setting a few more posts so we can get the gates up and get those boys in their new barn!

This is going to be a tiresome & expensive project but well worth it and hopefully with last a VERY long time!

Still dealing with a gnarly cold 🤧 but making a list of my spring projects to get done and what I need to prep the barn with for kidding season. I can’t wait to see what beautiful babies will be born this year!

We are also working on our new boy barn and getting that ready to go so stay tuned a post on that is coming. Hopefully the rain lets up so the concrete where the posts are can dry properly 🤞

🥖🔸Fresh baked bread on this rainy day 🔸🥖

Plain Sourdough loaf for a family member and I tried a 5 grain seeded sourdough loaf. It is delicious and made the perfect ham sandwich for lunch.

I have so many new goals for this year and especially new farm Plans in the works.

I am also letting go of negativity and things I cannot control and really trying to focus on things that are in my control and that I have the power to make a difference or influence with!

Did you know chickens LOVE goat milk? Not only is it delicious but full of beneficial vitamins and nutrients. I love to give them a milk treat every now and again! 🩷🐓

Gertie and Faye both were bred over the week to Magnus! I can’t wait for 2025 Spring babies 😍

I had planned to use Bobby for breeding Gertie this time, but I went out there to do chores on Wednesday and she had made her way in with Magnus and the deed was already done! lol.

This year we will have Faye, Gertie, and Hopefully Fawn for babies and next year we will get to add Poppi and Prim to the mix and our newest Buck, Bobby🩷

The weather may be getting cold but that doesn’t stop us from coming out and getting some fresh air & goat snuggles!!🩷🐐

Poppi & Prim, the two doelings I kept from the springs kidding season, are growing nicely and already resemble their mothers so much 😂 Prim is short and stout and Poppi is tall and lengthy! Both are so sweet and I can’t wait to start training them to the milking stand.

We enjoyed having our first Holiday Pop up last year that we are doing it again here at the farm! Please join us in December for our 2nd Annual Pop Up event where you can enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa and cookies while you shop some amazing handmade crafts and baked goods. Hope to see you there!

What a beauty! 🩷

As we roll into Autumn and leave summer behind, I so deeply appreciate now more than before the flowers still blooming in the garden. I know here before too long they will be gone and everything will put to sleep for winter- so I am making as many bouquets as I can for now. This rose just bloomed the other day and it is my favorite of all the roses we have.

🧡🦃Hello all & happy Friday!🧡🦃

I recently picked up five 4 month old turkeys that we are going to raise and finish out for butcher. I really wanted to get turkeys back in the spring but I missed my mark and life was super busy. I was lucky to find these guys from some local folks and I’m stoked to see how it goes this is my first time dealing with turkeys so hope it goes well! So far they are very tame and actually pretty friendly. Let’s hope it stays that way. Names are Burkey, Lurkey, Murkey, and Tofurkey 🥸😂

Next time, Don’t throw out those Halloween/ fall pumpkins & gourds! They make a great long term snack for chickens (and other animals!) that store well and are good for them. It’s that time of year!🌾 It was a hot & Sweaty day putting up our hay for the winter. very grateful for these guys and their man power 🙌🤎

How beautiful is this chive blossom infused vinegar?😍 I absolutely love the taste it adds and the color! Great to add in to things like dressings, pasta salads, and so much more.

I just love seeing everyone out grazing around and being happy 🥰☀️💗

Giant Oak Tree Branch Falls

Thank goodness no one got hurt! If you missed it on my stories, a giant oak branch fell into the goat/chicken pasture yesterday and there’s an even bigger one that is dangling in the tree, hooked onto a small branch. I don’t know how long it’s going to hold so we are trying to figure out a game plan before it just falls and smashes something! Even though it was startling, the goats didn’t mind a free snack! 🤪
