Last week Tanner was able to escape the shelter for a few hours on a Doggy Day Out Adventure! Check out what a community member had to say about this sweet boy:

"We had Tanner today for Doggy Day Our and he did great! He adjusted really easily to our house, loved running around in the backyard, and was quite snuggly on the couch. The biggest surprise was how well he did on a big walk. His pace was great (although he did Zig-zag!) and he wasn’t bothered by other dogs nearby at all. I hope he gets adopted soon!!"

Meet Kali - The Sweet Girl Looking for Her Forever Home

Say hello to Kali! This sweet girl arrived at SafeHaven from Linn County Animal Control after being found as a stray. Sadly, her owners never came forward, and now Kali is still searching for her forever home. While she's a little shy at first, Kali just needs a few minutes to warm up-and once she does, she'll be your loyal friend for life. She does tend to take a bit longer to warm up to men, but with patience, she'll grow to trust you.

Kali had the chance to go on a Doggy Day Out Adventure, where she met lots of new people and got to spend time outside of the shelter. During this outing, the community member who spent time with her noted that Kali may have some separation anxiety. Because of this, she would likely do best in a home where someone is around most of the time-whether that's someone retired, working from home, or with a flexible schedule.

If you're looking for a loving, sweet girl who just needs a little time and patience to feel comfortable, Kali is the one for you. Once she trusts you, she will shower you with affection and be a loyal companion. Give this adorable girl a chance, and she will love you forever!

Be Our Valentine – Give the Gift of Art for Your Pet!

For the 6th year in a row, treat your pet to the Valentine’s gift of a lifetime—a custom drawing of them to hang proudly! Whether you’re looking for a fun keepsake or a special way to celebrate your furry friend, this one-of-a-kind drawing is a perfect gift.

How It Works:

1. On February 10th and 11th, complete the submission form on our website: https://safehavenhumane.org/event/valentines-day-drawing-fundraiser-2/
2. Once you’ve submitted the form, follow the link to make a donation of at least $20.
3. After both steps are completed, our team will get started creating a drawing of your pet!

Important Dates:

1. Drawings will be emailed to you on February 12th or 13th.
2. If a physical copy is available, it will be available for pick-up at the shelter starting Valentine’s Day, February 14th. Some of our artists choice digital media to create your pet's portrait.

A Little Disclaimer:
You might get one of our extremely talented artists, but we’ll be honest… you’ll probably get someone who can’t draw their way out of a paper bag. We’re much better at caring for pets than drawing them—but we promise, your pet’s portrait will still be unique and full of heart!

Meet Charlie B. - A Second Chance at Life!

This handsome boy is a true survivor! Charlie B. found himself on a euthanasia list, out of time at a shelter in Texas, holding on to the hope that someone would save him. When we saw his photo, we knew we couldn't let this sweet boy's story end there. We acted quickly to bring him to SafeHaven, and we're so glad we did-Charlie has been nothing short of amazing since his arrival!

Charlie is an absolute sweetheart. He has a gentle, loving nature and is a joy to be around. He's done wonderfully in Play Group, getting along with both adult dogs and even puppies. Though he can get a little excited when there's a barrier between him and his new friends-just because he's so eager to play-we've seen that he's a well-mannered, well-behaved pup in his kennel and around people.

Charlie has been fantastic with everyone he's met, and we just know that he'll make an incredible addition to any family. He's ready for a forever home where he can share all of his love and playful spirit.

Meet Goldie Boy - The Active Adventurer with a Heart of Gold!

Don't let Goldie's age fool you-this handsome boy is still full of energy and ready for adventure! Though he's a little older, Goldie has the heart of a pup and the spirit of an explorer. He's a very sweet boy, calm and mellow in his kennel or while visiting offices, but when he sees that leash, his excitement is palpable! Goldie does tend to pull on leash when he's ready for his next adventure.

Goldie has attended both Play Groups and Doggy Day Out Adventures, and while he does well in some Play Group combinations, he's definitely more of a human-focused guy. He loves getting attention from his people and enjoys spending time with them. On his Doggy Day Out Adventures, Goldie has interacted with children, gone on hikes, and even enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at a dog-friendly patio for lunch.

Meet Nala: The Adventure-Seeking Lovebug Ready for Her Forever Family!

Nala is an absolute sweetheart with a heart full of love! This amazing dog has had some incredible adventures while waiting for her forever home. From roaming the OSU campus to exploring parks in Albany, touring Newport Beach, and even visiting a pet store, Nala is always up for a new adventure. She's a social butterfly, always excited to meet new people and discover new places, and she's happy to follow her handler's lead, whether it's on a leisurely walk, a hike, or a jog!

Nala is also a very well-mannered girl. She had a wonderful sleepover with a community member, exploring the home with calm curiosity and no interest in jumping on the furniture. She thrives on her outings from the shelter but is also happy to join Play Group with other dogs and spend time with volunteers.

While she's cautious when meeting new dogs, she quickly warms up and is excited to play once she feels comfortable. Her ideal family will be active, enjoy exploring new places, and appreciate a loving, playful companion. Theo & Louise - The Adorable, Under-Tall Goofballs!

We don't judge-these cutie are not overweight, they are just under-tall! Meet Theo & Louise, this adorable pair who are 95% body and 5% legs. They are the perfect blend of sweetness and fun, and their short, sturdy frames make them all the more lovable. These two arrived together from Madras, Oregon, and they've been waiting for their forever families ever since. Theo and Louise have been inseparable since the moment they arrived. Theo looks to Louise for reassurance and Louise looks to Theo for a fun time. These two are as cute as can be, energetic, and full of love!

Louise and Theo both enjoy play group and love getting attention from people. Theo has met other dogs before but no one compares to Louise, so he does best with those who will give him some space while they get to know each other. They're goofy, affectionate, and sure to bring joy to any home. Though they have medium-to-large dog weights, they're short like a corgi, making them even more unique and fun!

Meet Stella! Stella can't wait to find her forever person. She arrived at SafeHaven from her previous owner as they could not take care of her anymore. Stella may be a little shy when meeting her people, but with some time and patience she will warm right up to you! From her previous home, it is suspected that she gets along with other cats, dogs & kids. Stella's last home is hoping someone will come by and bring this girl a furever home with love and care. Who’s ready for their new best friend?! Mama Satee is an extremely sweet and energetic girl! She is our professional cat toy tester (they all pass for her) and cuddle bug. She can have a dominant personality with other cats and may do best as the only cat in the home. However, she has enough personality to keep your heart full. Ma Satee is currently on our Home for the Holidays adoption special!

We are down to two boys in the jungle room! Beetle Juice and Yarrow are both slow to warm up to people and enjoy lounging around without much human interaction (they are your stereotypical cat 😹). However, they warm up well to other cats and slowly become trusting of humans. They have been searching for their forever homes for over 50 DAYS! This holiday season their adoption fees are only $25. Tristan wants to join you on your morning coffee runs! ☕️ Tristan is a year old and has been at SafeHaven since June. He has become our go-to marketing pup because he loves a good photo opportunity! Meet Grant!

Meet Grant 🐶 He recently arrived at SafeHaven for his second chance at finding a loving family to call his own. Grant is the sweetest boy and today we welcomed him to our shelter with a little field trip and treat! He was slightly unsure of the car ride, but he loved his pup-shake and all the extra attention! 🥰

Bonnie

Kitten season is still in full swing! Bonnie is a sweet mama cat who came in this week with her four kittens. We had three other orphaned kittens who were struggling to eat with a bottle. Bonnie was more than happy to take them in and help them. They are now all doing great! ❤

Meet Rhoades

A good Samaritan witnessed someone drop Rhoades out of a moving car. They rushed to his aid to make sure he was okay and then brought him to us. Rhoades had a few scrapes and scabs and is now on antibiotics but is doing great. He is so sweet and is a purring machine! He is looking for a very loving family to welcome him into their home ❤ Stop by tomorrow and meet Rhoades!

Mikey’s Adoption

After waiting for 9 MONTHS Mikey has been adopted! 🥹 Mikey came to us as a shy puppy back in October. The shelter was a big, scary place to him so he went into a foster home. His foster parents were amazing and really helped him grow into the great dog he is! His personality started to come out within hours of being in their home. During a recent visit with some of their family, a neighbor met Mikey and couldn’t stop thinking about him. They met him a few more times and decided he needed to be added to their family forever! On Friday, they officially adopted him ❤️ Staff stopped in during the adoption to say their goodbyes. We are so excited for this sweet boy! Check out his adoption photo in the comments 🥰

Meet Memphis! Memphis is approximately 2 years old and has been waiting for a family to call his own for a very long time. He has lived in a foster home with other dogs before and done great! This sweet guy can be shy at first, but give him some snacks and snuggles and he'll be the most loyal companion.
