We help our communities' residents be the best "humane" beings they can be by providing: Compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; spay and neuter programs

SafeHaven Humane Society is a privately funded non-profit that receives no government funding. Support from the community and donations from people like you help to keep our doors open to the over 2,500 animals that we take in and adopt out each year. Programs Offered

SafeHaven offers, but is not limited to, the following programs: Dog and cat adoptions, Humane Education, Cats Count (a low cost spay/neuter program for cats available to qualifying Linn County residents), volunteer opportunities and Behavioral Training classes. This sweetheart is full of love to give. She may be older in years, however that just means she is experienced in lazy days soaking in the sun. Pepper was much loved by her previous owner, but when her owner had to move and couldn't bring Pepper with her, she brought her to SafeHaven knowing she would find a new person that would love her just was much. Pepper is used to living in a quiet home without other pets and kids. Since Pepper is a sweet older gal, we will be ensuring that she goes to a similar home dynamic. This handsome boy weighs in at a whopping 135 pounds! Baloo is the definition of a gentle giant. While he hasn't been here long, so far Baloo has been nothing but an absolute sweetheart. Queso is an incredibly sweet and smart dog whose warm personality will be sure to win you over. This pup is not just a loving companion; she has also been fantastic with children, other dogs, and people of all ages, making her the perfect addition to any family. Meet Moonpie!
Moonpie is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet, with a heart as soft as the comfy beds and pillows she loves to lounge on. This beautiful girl is looking for a loving family who can help her gain more confidence in the big world.

Moonpie came to us after being found and brought to Marion County Animal Services, and unfortunately, no owner could be located. Despite her rough start, she's a trooper! She's done very well in our Play Groups and loves being able to play with the other dogs, but sometimes, barriers like fences can frustrate her, especially when there's a dog on the other side, leading her to be vocal.

She's a gentle soul who just needs a little extra patience and understanding to feel truly secure. If you're looking for a loving, snuggly companion who can thrive with the right support, Moonpie might just be the perfect fit for you!

Milo is the perfect candidate! Milo is a 6 year old border collie mix. While he is a little older, he still has lots of energy and loves going on adventures. This handsome boy loves to play fetch, give cuddles, and meet new people- including kids.

Milo loads up in the car like a true gentleman, and provides a lot of laughs as he excitedly bounces in place while in the car. Milo has also joined Play Group where he did well meeting new dogs and excusing himself for breaks when he needed it.

Joker is an adorable, smart, and energetic boy who’s ready to find a loving home to call his own! Over the last month, Joker has proven to be extremely food-motivated—so if you're looking for a new best friend, sharing your lunch with him might just seal the deal. He’s also a social butterfly and does great in Play Group, though he can get a little vocal during playtime, which might intimidate some dogs.

Joker has been a part of our Doggy Day Out Program where he had the chance to explore the OSU campus, meet new people, and even enjoy a delicious pup cup. He’s a sweet, happy boy who loves adventures and would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of love, attention, and playtime.

Hello, my name is Princess Zelda and I am looking for my next new adventure! I once ruled over a great and prosperous land known as Hyrule, where I would spend my days roaming around my castle, curious to see what treasures I could find. When I wasn't exploring, I would watch over my people. Even as a princess, I am still weary of those I oversee, and tend to prefer the comfort of my castle, where I can observe from a distance. All was well until Calamity Ganon, a beast of pure evil and darkness swept through the land, wreaking havoc on those around him. I spent 100 years protecting my people, using my gifts to tether him to Hyrule Castle, and keep his destruction from spreading.

My efforts were not in vain, as my trusted body guard, Link, harnessed the power of the 4 Divine Beasts, defeating Ganon, and freeing me from my confines. Now, as all is right in the world, I have set off on a solo adventure, looking for a new place to settle down, where I can observe, and receive the occasional pet, or cuddle. Who’s ready for their new best friend?! Mama Satee is an extremely sweet and energetic girl! She is our professional cat toy tester (they all pass for her) and cuddle bug. She can have a dominant personality with other cats and may do best as the only cat in the home. However, she has enough personality to keep your heart full. Ma Satee is currently on our Home for the Holidays adoption special!

We are down to two boys in the jungle room! Beetle Juice and Yarrow are both slow to warm up to people and enjoy lounging around without much human interaction (they are your stereotypical cat 😹). However, they warm up well to other cats and slowly become trusting of humans. They have been searching for their forever homes for over 50 DAYS! This holiday season their adoption fees are only $25. Help us find them a forever home for the holidays!

Tristan wants to join you on your morning coffee runs! ☕️ Tristan is a year old and has been at SafeHaven since June. He has become our go-to marketing pup because he loves a good photo opportunity! Tristan is described as “easy going, playful, sweet, and overall amazing” by one of his recent Doggy Day Out adventure buddies. Meet Grant 🐶 He recently arrived at SafeHaven for his second chance at finding a loving family to call his own. Grant is the sweetest boy and today we welcomed him to our shelter with a little field trip and treat! He was slightly unsure of the car ride, but he loved his pup-shake and all the extra attention! 🥰
