"We put the paw-some in boarding!" Let us take care of your furry family members while you are away on vacation for several days or just for the day while you are at work! We are a full service boarding facility providing the furry members of your family with the best of care while you are away on your vacation, or simply just for a day of fun while you are at work! We give them outside play time
in the fenced play yard, as well, 5-6 times a day! We offer multiple pet discounts and extended stay discounts! Pricing is as follows:
25 foot indoor/outdoor run = $30/night for 1st dog, $27/night for 2nd dog, $24/night for 3rd dog
Luxury suites = $40/night for 1st dog, $37/night for 2nd dog, $34/night for 3rd dog
Day boarding = $20/day
Cat boarding = $25/night

We do require dogs to be current on DHLP, Rabies, and Kennel Cough (bordatella). Cats must be current on distemper, rabies, and feline leukemia.

8- however the main tasks of this job will be keeping up on the dog's water levels - feeding them - monitoring them - playing with them - making every single one feel comfortable and welcome !
9- You will work as part of a team to ensure the safety and the happiness of every single dog
10- Administering medicine to dogs is a must for our babies who are on daily meds
11- first aid knowledge is a plus
12- again previous experience in handling large groups of dogs
13- This job will requires you to work weekends and ALL HOLIDAYS! We will do our best to work together so that YOU don't work every holiday !

This week has been full of lots of excitement, trepidation, and busyness as we are preparing to take ownership of Bark Avenue Pet Resort by the first of the year! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for this opportunity to serve our community in this way. It's an amazing feeling when it becomes so apparent that the path you are embarking upon is the one you were meant to walk along.
Priscilla and Anna Leigh met back in 2016 when Anna Leigh came to work part-time at Limestone Veterinary Clinic as the bookkeeper and payroll specialist for both the veterinary clinic and the animal shelter. Priscilla began her role as the director of the Athens-Limestone Animal Shelter in 2010. It was here that they began to develop a friendship and realized their abilities to work together towards a common goal. And somehow their dream of starting their own non-profit animal rescue and then purchasing Bark Avenue Pet Resort started to become a reality.
In October of 2023, after Priscilla resigned as the director of the animal shelter, they started Creating Hope for Paws, a non-profit rescue developed to provide abandoned or unwanted animals with a safe place and give them a hope of being adopted into a family of their own. This rescue is growing daily and will hopefully help save hundreds of animals in our community. This rescue will work as a sister rescue to Peace, Love, and Animals which Cathy Oakley started years ago in this location.
Then after lots of prayer, and simply leaving it in God's hands, we are here! We will be the owners of this wonderful boarding facility that Cathy Oakley built from the ground up. We will strive daily to run this facility just as she did and keep her legacy of serving people through the care of their furry babies alive in this community.
We can't wait to meet all of her wonderful clients, as they become our clients, and take care of those dogs just like they are our own! 🐾❤️

Luxury suites (this is a private “hotel room” for dogs. 6’ by 8’ room, all inside and preferred by the shy or extremely spoiled babies).

Due to shortage in staffing, we no longer board Cats.
Day Care - we do not provide group play for our dogs. If you would like for us to match your dog with a play companion, just let our staff know!
Rate per dog - $15.00
We do offer special discounts to Military Clients, Extended Stay (14 nights or more) and Long Term Stay (30 nights or more).
Proof of vet vaccinations are required.
Dogs - Rabies, Bordetella and Parvo/Distemper (DHPP or DHLPP)
Any dog staying 5 nights or more will receive a courtesy bath. If your stay is not long enough for a courtesy bath, request baths are available for $15 per dog.
Comfort items are recommended. Bringing a blanket, toy or favorite treats eases your pets stress and makes for a better visit. (Please note that we try our very best to keep your pets items in their private run. Sometimes they sneak them past us and things do get lost)
Our staff is trained to administer insulin injections and prescription medications. Please send your pets medication with clear instructions.
We do our best to honor special request. Please allow time at check in to discuss these with our staff.
Your dog will never be allowed contact with another dog. This is a safety issue. We only allow sharing of runs or playgrounds at the owners request.
Please note that no reservations can be made through this page. Contact us at 256-233-4343. Our main goal is caring for your baby. If you received our voice mail, please leave us a detailed message (name, phone number, and requested reservations). When all the babies are settled in, we will return your call.
