Just got back with Rabbit. He has a brachial plexus injury. Basically, severe nerve damage to his leg. He needs to get a little bigger and he'll have to have the leg amputated. Good news, kittens do amazingly well being tripods. We'll keep you posted on how he's doing and when he's having his surgery. Thanks for donating and supporting him!

🚨🐺Emergency help needed!! Meet Rabbit. A nice lady just brought him to the Rescue after finding him in the middle of the road. His face has some rough spots and we believe his front leg is broken. He's obviously in pain. He's on the way to Athens Animal Hospital for care. We are extremely low on funds and he will at least need xrays, exam and medications. If anyone would like to help out with his bill, we'd appreciate it so much. We will keep you posted on what the vet says!

Sweet Casper needs a new home. His mommy had a stroke and can no longer take care of him. A kind relative took him in, but can not keep long-term because of allergies.

Casper is 1 year old, neutered and utd on shots. He's a very cuddly boy he'll sleep on your chest with his arms around your neck and he drools when he's getting petted. He's also very playful.

We have the sweetest cats at the rescue!

In the Nick of Time! Meet Darlene! She was found in the very back of a dumpster moments before it was emptied. A nice man heard her crying and rescued her from a bad ending. Now she's part of our rescue family and we are grateful to kind people who give innocent souls the chance at a good life.

Happy Sunday! I would like to take a moment to reintroduce some of our Senior and Long-term Dogs at PLA. Some of these have been here for years and even their lifetime. We see them as amazing, loving and precious dogs. For some, it's little quirks that have deemed them unadoptable and for others, no one knows why they are still here. I will be sending out a post on each and everyone. All are over due on their annual check up and vaccines. Our hope is for just one to steal your heart and offer to sponsor their vet visit. It's heartbreaking for us when we have to wait on their care. Our funds are limited and when an animal is in a life or death situation, that has to come first. Featured Feline Friday! Meet Daisy. She was adopted from the Rescue 5 years ago and recently returned due to no fault of her own. She's been a little testy since she's been back, but that's understandable. One day she was in her home and next day she wasn't. She needs a loving home in which she can have her space to get adjusted. Do you have a home and a heart?

The Rescue has taken in a lot of cats and kittens. As you can see, we love them very much! We need help feeding them. We are almost out of canned cat food. We also need canned dog food, Clorox, laundry detergent and paper towels.If anyone could please drop some off at the Rescue, Coilplus in Athens (close to Steelcase), or order off our wishlists, we'd really appreciate it!
