Just wanted to update this page to indicate that I am not breeding Cattle dogs at this time. My females were both spayed last month, due to health complications. It was a difficult decision for me, but it was what was best for my dogs.

And just like that, life changes.
Today, I said goodbye to Foxy, my Red cattledog.
CH Heartland's Red Fox Lady RN
She was one of the best working cattledogs we have owned. She was always fearless and never, I mean never, backed down from a cow. They were gonna move, whether they wanted to or not. When calves got out, I could send her to round them up and she would put them back in, then hold them back until I fixed the fence.
As any true red head, she had a temper and was particular about which dogs she would hang with, but Lately her best bud was our great pyrennes, Kevy. Together, the 3 of us would wait for my grandson, Joel to get off the bus and then play in the shop
As a cattledog, she didn't show signs of being sick until she was really sick. She had been to the vet last Thursday, where they found abdominal masses, high WBC and anemia. We are thinking it was cancer, but hoped it might not be and she would pull through. This morning, she followed me around, and from the look in her eyes, I knew she was done.
Fortunately I found a vet that would come to our farm, so she could be comfortable and be in a familiar place with her family.
Run free pretty girl.

Our Story

On this page you will find information about the My ACD’s, general information about Australian Cattle Dogs and information about Cattledogs that are in need of rescue and adoption.

Australian Cattle Dogs are not a breed for the faint of heart and they are not the perfect fit for just anybody. They require lots of early socialization and training. They also require continued mental stimulation and exercise. Without these things they can quickly become destructive. If you give a cattledog an inch they will take as many miles as they can.

Australian Cattle Dogs are also the most loyal and smartest breed that I have ever encountered. They generally bond quickly with their owner and their families. ACD’s can be found competing in virtually every canine sport. They love to please their owners and, if trained right, will do anything that you ask of them.

My name is Laurie Guza and I have been involved in Cattledogs for over 35 years. My husband’s family had some of the original “heelers” from Texas. Eventually we acquired AKC registered Australian Cattle Dogs. My first AKC female, Cinnamon, was from Silver Hills dogs. I then got a male from the Hillhaven Kennel, CH Hillhaven’s PC’s Pogorama “Pogo”. Pogo finished his championship in just 4 shows and got me hooked on dog shows. Besides being a show dog, Pogo spent his life working for a living on our dairy and beef farm. He also became our first stud dog.
