Canine Pyometra~

Pyometra is a life-threatening uterine infection that causes the uterus to fill with pus and bacteria. It's a secondary infection caused by hormonal changes in the female reproductive tract.

Symptoms~

Lethargy, Fever, Depression, Poor appetite, Increased thirst and urination, Vomiting, Vaginal discharge, and Distended abdomen.

Types of pyometra~

There are two types of pyometra: open and closed. In open pyometra, the cervix is open and pus drains outside the body. In closed pyometra, the cervix is closed and pus is trapped inside the body.

Spaying your female dog at a young age age is very important, female dogs can be spayed from 6 months of age.
