🥶The brutally cold weather is upon us. 🥶
If you haven’t already-
Supply dogs/cats with adequate shelter or bring indoors
Straw instead of hay is preferred in dog houses
Heat lamps
Fresh water and food etc
Livestock-
Fresh food and water daily
Horses would benefit from electrolytes in their feed daily to encourage them to drink water.
Stay safe and warm and don’t forget about your fur babies.

New Year’s Eve can be stressful for pets, but a little preparation can go a long way in keeping them safe and comfortable.
Create a quiet, secure space for them, keep them indoors, and use white noise or soft music to help drown out the sound of fireworks. Make sure they have up-to-date ID tags and microchip information in case they slip out. Avoid feeding them harmful foods, keep decorations out of reach, and provide toys or chews to keep them occupied.
If your pet is prone to anxiety, consult your veterinarian for calming solutions.
Let’s make sure everyone rings in the New Year safely!

A very Merry Christmas from Leaf River Vet! We hope you’ve had a wonderful day!
